“Powerful during the rainy season.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2014 via mobile

I want to give these falls and the whole park a better review, but it was not as good as it could have been. The falls were thundering. An astounding force of nature and quite hypnotic.
The point deductions go to the silly ejido fees we saw in this part of Mexico. You pay a few pesos to get on the land, then a fee to enter the the falls. All of this is done at two separate areas.
There are some cabins for rent very close to the falls. We did not see inside any, but we did walk around the outside of a few. The jungle seems to be moving in on the little bungalows. It seems a little unkempt and quite dank. The mozzies must be brutal in the evening.

“Beautiful and fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2014 via mobile

We only had 45 minutes there on a tour but would have liked to stay longer. They have cabanas for rent and plan on staying at least one night on our next visit to Palenque. It was a lot fun to walk behind the falls but over rocks that were wet and slippery in places so you have to be careful. We paid 10 pesos each for a flashlight and admittance to the caverns behind the falls which was adventurous but again need to use caution. You can swim in the pool at the bottom of the falls. Also has a restraunt that we did not have time to try. Was very clean, no annoying vendors. Very nice, a lot of fun.

The natural beauty of Chiapas is just amazing. The waterfalls were just stunningly beautiful. Make sure you don't go too soon after a major downpour because the water will run muddy. You can actually go behind the waterfall, just don't get your camera wet!

“Go for the cavern tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2014

Mishol-Ha has a small cavern with another small waterfall you can view for an additional 10 pesos. They give you a small flashlight, and while the fall isn't that great, it's fun to explore the cave.

“Spectacular atmosphere but mediocre service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2014

Cabanas here are comfortable, sleep 5, have kitchens, and a view out the window of the waterfall. In my opinion it's a bargain for about US$40 per night. We spent 4 nights here and this is the place to come to immerse yourself in beautiful jungle in relative comfort with a massive natural swimming hole available day or night. From our cabana we saw toucans, trogon, motmot, parrots, and were awakened by howler monkeys. This is about a half-hour drive to Palenque to the East and to Agua Azul to the West. The food at the restaurant is very good too, and after about 5:00 we had the this entire beautiful place to ourselves. I long to return here some day!

The only drawback is the service. We ran out of propane and asked to swap with one of the empty cabanas, but we were told they were all "full". Power was lost to the entire property for 2 days while we were here. Not the fault of Misol-ha, but no offers of discounts for the hassle either.
