My favourite attraction / ruins in Mexico, absolutely great!

It's good to see early in the morning when temperature is cool and site is not crowded.

“An absolute must-see”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

My favourite ruins in the whole of Mexico, even though the weather wasn't fantastic. We didn't hire a guide as we thought it was pretty expensive but still thoroughly enjoyed wandering around the ruins in such a fantastic setting. The museum at the end of the park is also definitely worth a visit.

“Best Ruins in the Mayan World”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

Great artwork, excellent excavations, interesting history and feel of the place. Only wish we could have gone swimming in the pools of the waterfall.

“Go early”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Excellent site - but make sure you go early, when it is cool and shaded, not in the humid heat of the afternoon.

“Only 2% of the site is clear”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

Went to see the tomb of the great Rey Packal, in Palenque, but discovered that the jungle keeps covered must of the remains of this fantastic city, we went in a tour trough the jungle to find many, many edifications completeky coverd by jungle nd vegetation, it was an incredible civilization, they even built underground aqueducts, if you hire a guide, he can show you where they are covered by the jungle, this is a fantastic journey back in time, spended over two hours just walking through jungle looking for sites.
Tha part of Palenque that is clear, takes only about an hour to see, I also recomend to visit the onsite museum at teh entrnce of the park
