Arrived here in the early evening-it's about 10-15 minutes off the Stuart Highway.Sealed road that leads you to this quirky place.Mainly consists of a pub, some houses and petrol bowsers. The pub consists of the bar,an outdoor area, cabins, rooms, and caravan facilities. The meals are large and of a good quality.Entertainment is provided at times but there wasn't any during our stay.
We shared a 4 bedroom (bunks) dorm with a shared bathroom.Clean and cool with aircon and fan.
The bar is covered in bras, pants hats etc signed by previous travellers. There's lots of memorabilia and you can spend a lot of time browsing through the pub.I would have liked to spend more time in this area as there's a lot of information about John McDouall Stuart-an amazing, gutsy explorer.
Good value for money overall with our room around$140-00 for the 4 of us
:)

Room Tip: If you don't like bunks then a cabin may be preferred. My sister stayed in one and said that it w...

Stayed in one of the basic cabins for one night. Good basic standard for outback oz. Pub is interesting with all the stuff stuck around & staff friendly. Surprisingly busy for the time of year. Well worth the stop.

yes its touristy but its a quirky place and we enjoyed wandering around having a look at everything. we were there sunday 30th Dec, the place was fairly quiet (off peak) so no entertainment.
we booked one night for 2 in a pub room for $60. room was clean with air con, small table and a chair. bathroom (one toilet, one shower, shared with other pub rooms) was a bit dirty, with water and soaked towels on the floor so we skipped showers in the morning.
did not use the pool and only saw it at night so no comments there.
Food was really yummy and quick to be served.

a bit disappointed in the staff. over the course of the night and morning, we saw a few different staff members, and none made any effort to chat to us. it would have been nice to speak to some locals, maybe learn more about the area, but seemed the staff were just interested in chatting to the two, what seemed like locals, sitting at the bar. i understand they must get sick of tourists, who probably ask the same old questions, but a little chit chat wouldnt hurt.

Daly Waters Pub. My 3rd stay in last 4 years - a timeless icon, well worth the trip to experience. Have stayed in three of the four standards of accommodation, this time in deluxe cabins, which were excellent. When assessing accommodation and amenities, you have to remember that you are in the middle of no-where. Cabins are relatively new, of transportable design, have two double beds and 1 set of double bunks. Aironditioning in each room and two flatscreen tvs with good number of channels. Small kitchen with toaster, microwave & cutlery/crockery. No other cooking or washup facilities. Good range of food at the Pub at reasonable prices. Coopers beer on tap (plus quite a few others). Walls and ceiling of pub are covered in all sorts of memorabilia - you can spends hours and hours reading about previous visitors and the area's history. Very quiet in Wet season, but still worth the visit.

Room Tip: The backpacker rooms are very basic and the basic cabins are old. Go for the individual cabins or t...

We stayed at the pub in a cabin for one night in early December 2012. The cabin was clean and comfortable with air con. Basic but had all you need.

The pub was excellent. So much history hanging on those walls! The food was very good, better than many meals we had eaten in the Top End. The service was great and the owners were very friendly, especially Robyn who was just lovely :)

To the post who said it was a tourist trap ... Don't go there then! It is a part of history and stays there for us to be able to visit because tourists and travellers before us have spent money there to keep it running.

We recommend a visit to the pub, even if it is just for a meal or a drink. Will return there again one day!

Stopped for a quick drink and some lunch. This place has so much character. People leave items of clothing or pictures or anything they happen to have with them on the walls. Would love to return one day. Definitely worth a visit.
