Owner description: Shepreth Wildlife Park first started as a private sanctuary in 1979. WillersMill Wild Animal Sanctuary, as it was known, was a refuge for creatures great and small, including rescued foxes, hedgehogs and badgers, alongside many different species of unlicensed exotics. After care and rehabilitation many were released back into the wild, but where this was not possible, they lived out their life at the sanctuary. Today, Shepreth Wildlife Park still hosts a busy ‘Hedgehog Hospital’ but also participates in national and international breeding programmes for endangered species. It remains as committed as ever to its animals and conservation, and to educating the next generation of conservationists. There are so many different animals to meet you won't know where to start! Marvel at the sheer ‘roar' power of the tigers in the Big Cat House or spy upon the mischievous primates on Monkey Island. Getting up, close and personal with the residents of the park is what it's all about. Since opening its doors to the public in 1984, Shepreth Wildlife Park, set in natural grounds, has become one of East Anglia’s major attractions and is home to tigers, otters, monkeys, reptiles and even creepy crawlies!. There’s so much to do from daring to enter the Nocturnal House, to playing ‘pirates’ or even stroking a cockroach! The park also provides lots of unique experiences to book, from hand-feeding the ring-tailed lemurs to playing with meerkats in Meerkat Manor. It truly is a fun day out for all the family!

“Small zoo but worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2013 via mobile

We visited here and had a pleasant couple of hours, the nocturnal house is particularly good, the animals all look well but due to the heat many were not visible. It is very child friendly and the facilities are good.

“Lovely family day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2013

Shepreth Wildlife park is a lovely size and is ideal for younger children who can get tired if they are asked to wander around all day. All the enclosures are easy accesable and are close enough to each other to keep you interested. The park was very well kept and it was nice to see staff around the park attending to the animals and park areas. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. There is a lovely out-door play area, as well as an indoor soft play area (to enjoy if the British weather turns bad). There is more than enough to keep a family entertained for the whole day and i look forward to returning.

“Fantastic birthday party day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

We've just had our 3 year olds birthday party at Shepreth and all had a really lovely day. There's a great selection of animals, fab porcupine, armadillo and mini croc to name a few. The zoo was the perfect size for sheperding round a group of 14 children, lots to do but not so big to loose anyone. The staff at the entrance were really helpful as were the kitchen staff. The party lunch was just right, sandwiches all really nice and fresh and a good selection of fruit and treats. While its only small the children loved the soft play area, esp shooting the foam balls at the dads! A really superb day and the only birthday party i've organised where i didn't end up with a headache at the end. We were there over 5 hours too.

“small but good range of animals in nice enclosures”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

Loved coming here, website needs updating on animal listings though as wanted to see foxes and they have gone, which was a shame. Got some good pictures. Fab bat house. Fab tiger enclosure. Mountain Lion is so impressive. Wasn't sure if you could go in and see the hedgehogs - after seeing so many pictures was really hoping to photograph some of them. We came twice 21st & 29th June - so shows you how much we liked it here. recommending it to all. Keep up the good work.

“Great Day Out!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

I visited Shepreth Wildlife park for the very first time with my 3 year old Niece. Was really impressed with the layout of the park and how well kept it was. Plenty of space and the play areas outside were very good and there was also plenty of seating outside.
It was nice to have an indoor play area in case the weather is not too good and the food in the cafe was of good value.
It was good to see a wide range of different animals and they are very well looked and there was always plenty of staff working hard round the park to keep the park well maintained.
A very enjoyable trip out.
