“A great place to feed the kangaroos”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

We wanted to have a hands on experience for the kids, especially with the Kangaroos and this is the place that fulfilled that. What a great place to visit. When we got there we were given a map and times of activities that happen, so on the day we went, we headed straight for the Koala picture opportunity as they take a rest at 1pm. The keepers are knowledgable and although I dont agree with holding Koalas for pictures etc, they sit on the tree stumps and you are allowed to touch the Koala with the back of a finger. Which I feel is how it should be, kids loved this. After doing this we then headed back to the entrance to do the exhibits in order. The Kangaroo walk through was the highlight, many kangaroos and joeys are here to smooth and feed. Food is free and the kangaroos are so docile, many had Joeys in their pouches, which was a nice thing to see. We spent a good 45mins - 1hr in this exhibit. The volunteers that were dotted around were also very knowledgable. There are also birds, reptiles to see. We visit the Farm Show which was fun and had audience interaction. There is also the "Meet the wombat" show but we did not attend this due to the timings of the show. All in all a must visit. We loved it. There is parking here and its free to park, entrance fee was $24 per Adult and $10 per child.

“An excellent wildlife park”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

My brother was over on holidays and wanted to see a koala so off the two of us went to Caversham park. This place is fantastic. Loads of Kangaroos and Wallabies in a big open area where you can pet and feed them and there is also a koala area where you can rub the koalas. Theres lots and lots of other native Australian animals throughout the park such as birds, reptiles, dingo's etc..

I highly recommend it particularly for kids but we're both adults and 100% enjoyed it

“Very hands on”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

Since moving from the old premises, this place has been top notch! What a superb wildlife park. Where can you roam around with friendly kangaroos to walk up to and pat at your leisure, in such beautiful surroundings, with peacocks walking around you. The white kangaroos and white peacocks are spectacular. These have to be the most chilled out kangaroos around, or perhaps they have just become used to human contact. If you are looking for an up close encounter with kangaroos for as long as you like, you can't miss Caversham wildlife park. The camel rides are very average, but if you haven't experienced one before you will get a kick out of it. From memory, there is not a lot of food options, more snacks than anything. There is a seating area near the entrance to sit and eat lunch. Maybe pack a picnic to have at Whiteman park when you're finished. The farm animals are so cute, great for little kids. My favourite character there has to be the wombat, she doesn't do much but I've always had a soft spot for her ( I think it was a girl???) What a perfect day out. And situated right inside Whiteman park is an added bonus as this place makes for another perfect family day out. You could spend the whole weekend here and will look back on it as one of your most relaxing but enjoyable weekends out with family or friends. We have done this with our kids, with our international friends and with family and each visit is equally enjoyable. Quality! Take your camera.

“Something for every age”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

Caversham Wildlife park is located within the Whiteman park complex. The wildlife park offers encounters with the unique diversity of Australian animals. You can stroke a koala, have your picture taken with a wombat, feed kangaroos and learn about the habitat that is the great Australian bush. Whiteman park also provides an automobile collection, a working steam train and acres of play areas and walks. Never fails to provide a great day out.

“Caversham wild life park”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

I finally made to the park something I had inteneded to do since my children were young. We made it and they are now 22 and 24.
There is lots to see and do the park itself has plenty of space you can bring you own food barbque the kids can splash in the water area . Take tram rides. Adults can view art, see a large range of vechilcles in the motor museum.
And you can get sugar overload in the lollie shoppe.
