We went on a hot day so we were especially thankful for how the park is mostly shaded by trees. The paths are paved or if dirt, are well maintained so sandals were fine footwear. We enjoyed the usual suspects koalas ect, but were especially impressed by the interactive programs here where you could pet the koalas or a variety of other Australian wild animals. We missed the big event in the barn, but would recommend it to get close and personal with more unusual creatures like wombats and pythons. Finally, yes, Caversham has the best 'roo petting near Perth because the 'Roos are in a very large grassy enclosure that is partially shaded so they actually have a little life in them even in the heat of the day. They had grey and red 'Roos here and there were many pregnan females so that was especially interesting to see the Joey move around in the pouch without it being ready to pop it's head out. They give you food too with which to feed them so this is great fun for adults and children!
