There are a lot of areas where you can touch or even hold the animals. The best thing is going around feeding the kangaroos.

there is a lot to do here,
you can interact with the animals and feed them,
very education fore little kids and nice place to go for a walk if you like looking at animals in the native place

Great to be able to walk about with kangaroos, wallabys etc and to see all the other australian fauna and flora - a great afternoon spent there

8 years since I last visited this small Australian wildlife zoo and I don't think the bird and small animal enclosures havnt had any work done on them in all this time. They are very small and poorly maintained enclosures with very sad unhappy looking birds and animals in them. However money has been spent on the koalas with a new viewing area which allows you to get very close to the animals and the keepers are pleasant and informative. The kangaroo area allows you to get close to the animals. I found it very expensive to get in ,love it that kids stop being kids at 12 and are then charged as adults. Was an ok couple of hours but unlike Perth zoo you would find it hard to spend all day.

I visited Caversham with my husband, two young children and my parents and was extremely disappointed. At $24 per adult and $10 per child the entrance fee is not insignificant especially when a number of the enclosures were lacking animals, some were missing basic information signs such as the name of the species, there was a lot of litter around and generally the place looked somewhat uncared for.

Worst of all was the attitude of the staff. Nearly without exception they were rude & unhelpful - especially at the entrance and kiosk!

If you decide to go to the park then you definitely need to take your own food as there is only a little kiosk which is poorly stocked - no sandwiches/muffins etc just chocolate & crisps. One member of our group went to get a cup of tea, however it was just watery milk - when they took it back they were told they could pay for another cup or drink what they'd been given!! I purchased a bottle if water for my little boy and when I asked for a paper cup to pour it into for him to drink I was told that they "don't supply crockery"! The manager told me I couldn't have anything then decided I could buy a paper cup for 50cents.

Perth Zoo is an excellent attraction and a far better day out! It has the native species that you can see at Caversham and much more. The only good thing about Caversham is that it is in the grounds of Whiteman Park which is a great place for kids with the train & tram rides, paddling pool, playgrounds and lots of open space to run around.

Unfortunately I think that Caversham Wildlife Park is a poor example of the attractions available in Perth.
