Our group of 9 spent 3 days at Hotel da Cesare. It was great. The family run business couldn't have been more helpful. We experienced the city, the country and the culture. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing vacation by the sea.

we spent 4 nights at the Hotel Da cesare. we paid 70 euros per night thanks to an offer we found on booking.com for a regular room with no sea view. When we arrived there, as it already was mid-september and the hotel was almost empty, they offered us, for the same price, a room with a blacony and view at the sea. It has been really nice of them and we really appreciated it. It is true that all the fourniture are really vintage and the shower's doors are almost falling apart. But the room and the bathroom are both really really clean and the mattress we slept in was confortable. The breakfast is good and you don't miss anything on the table. The family who run the hotel is also really nice and gave us some good advices about restaurants in the region. To make it short, we really had a good time at Hotel Da Cesare. Paying 70 euros per night spending some time there is really good.

Frankly speaking, I feel bad for being harsh as the family that owns it is quite nice and friendly, however I have to share my experience :

Paid 115€ per night in August (which is a good deal since they charge 156€ normally!) for a 3 star hotel in Sardegna... I was expecting some nice place with some good extra services. Well, turns out the rooms are as basic as a one or two star hotel, the double beds are actually single beds put together, the decoration is from the 60s, and I sincerely do not think that it has been renovated since. The worst is the 0.5m2 shower where you barely have enough space to turn around in (and I am not a big person!), and you can barely open the doors to the shower cause they are so old and made of crappy plastic that in order to repair them, the hotel SCOTCH taped the doors to keep them in place... 3 star hotel ?

Then, another funny thing, is the fact that they turn off the central air conditionning from 9am-1pm so that the cleaning lady can do the rooms.. wierd, no? I would think most people like air conditionning at any time they please, especially in the morning when you want to sleep in and it's like 40°C outside...

Last but not least, the lounge and beach chairs right outside of the hotel are charged to hotel guests ! Two beach beds with umbrella is 14€ the day... Is it me or does that seem a bit overpriced..?

Anyway, if the hotel manages to renovate and make something nice out of it as the acces to the beach is actually quite nice.. ok way not. But in the meantime, I recommend to stick to some of the Agriturismo places that are near there that I am sure are much better quality/price...

P.S. No internet acces...
