“Fantastic walk and very picturesque village”
Review of Cirque De Moureze

The 2-3 hour walk up and around the Cirque is highly recommended. It is steep in sections with some scrambling across rocks needed in a few places. Take los if water as it can get very hot in the sun!

Well marked, with great views but bring sun protection for the beginning and end and a windproof for the exposed ridge in the middle. Oh and lots of water and energy!

It is hard to have so much in such a small area - quaint village, rather rare geological formations, art studio - one only wishes, although perhaps out of mere touristic greed, that the chateau were open to visitors - it has a long and distinguished history - but, even in ruins, one can imagine its importance on the Nimes-Toulouse route. The area has been continuously inhabited for more than 7000 years, and this type of geology is only one of four in France, so definitely worth a stop or even a hike. Hiking maps are available, but one can enjoy the area without too much effort. Camera is recommended in any case.

I did 12km cirquit of hiking. That's my very first Hiking experience and It was a bit hard but you do not have to be trained to do it. I have some equipment like a isolated coat, termic t-shirt, hiking boots and hiking sticks. It's kinda short and the views of the cirque de Mourère and the town are amazing. I would recommend you and also visit the town. it's charming!!!

Erosion has turned the dolomitic rocks into a weird landscape of stone columns with scrub and trees between. Walk around and wonder at how it was formed and how some of the towers are still standing. Climb higher for the more distant views around this wonderful countryside.
