Trevaylor Caravan & Camping Park
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed June 22, 2014

We stayed for 6 nights at Trevaylor in June with our camper van, this being the third time we have been back to this excellent site. The site is very quiet and well run - Charlie and Michelle who own the site are always available and cannot do enough to help you. There is a lovely shop on the site together with a bar and restaurant. The showers have recently been refurbished and are very clean. The fields for the site back onto countryside and there are lovely views to be had wherever you park.

Trevaylor is ideally located for walkers as just opposite the camp site is a path which meets up with the South West Coast Path. Our dog was in paradise as we walked every day along the most stunning part of the Cornish coastline! St Just is a 30 minute walk down a quiet lane and across fields or a 2 minute drive away - we ate at the Kings Arms and had a lovely meal there.

Please stay on this camp site as the owners work really hard to ensure that you have a memorable stay, we will certainly be returning.

My wife and i recently enjoyed a week's holiday in a static caravan at Trevaylor.

The site is quiet and well maintained and is close to the south west coastal path. The coast line is dramatic and impressive.
The site has a bar and restaurant serving good food at reasonable prices.

The site owners (Charlie and Michelle) are exceptional hosts and are genuinely friendly, helpful and welcoming.

There is a bus stop outside the site and it is convenient for travel by public transport.

The site is located in Truthwall which is between St. Just and Botallack.

It is within easy reach of many attractions in the area including Geevor tin , the Minack theatre and Lands End.

We really enjoyed our holiday at Trevaylor and would love to return in the future.

We spent 3 nights here at the end of May, and were really pleased with our choice. The site was not too busy and we were able to choose where we wanted to pitch. The owners were really friendly and helpful and the small shop is very useful for buying the basics. You can also put your icepacks in the freezer and borrow a replacement, which is very useful for non electric campers lke ourselves.
The showers (free), were piping hot, powerful and kept very clean, as were the toilets. Laundry / washing up room spotless too.
We didn't eat in the restaurant, but did take some beers away from the bar (our small children meant we preferred to stay by the tent so they could play).
The site is really well placed, just 2 minutes from St Just, 400m from the coast path. It was very quiet at night.
All in all a great campsite which we will definetely be revisiting. Thank you!

Have just stayed at the campsite for 4 nights , it's a great base to stay for all the sites of Cornwall , the facilities in the campsite it's self were clean and always maintained , the site it's self has many spots to choose from and the staff are very friendly and have lots of knowledge about the areas and where to see .
If I was to come back to Cornwall in the future I would be more then happy to stay here again :)

This was our first visit to Trevaylor. I was looking for a nice site in this area of Cornwall and this one stood out for all the rest.
We stayed in one of the static vans, which was well equipped and very clean. This site is a perfect base for touring this area of Cornwall. We were here in August and the site was quite full, but it never felt it. The coastal path is a very short walk away and there are several excellent beaches nearby. The site has a small, well stocked shop, laundry room and a nice bar and restaurant, which serves great food and has a handy mobile phone charging rack for campers. There is a small play area which is at the bottom end of the site, and our two children enjoyed having some ‘parent free time’ making many new friends in this safe environment.
The beautiful town of St Just is a short 5 minute drive away. This has quite a few amenities, Co-op, post office, doctor surgery, pubs, shops, etc.
This is a well maintained site; Charlie and Michelle are excellent hosts, always helpful and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone.

Very pleased with this site and no problems recommending it. Right on a regular bus route and not far from the outstanding coast line rich in mining history. Nice little shop and bar and although we didn't eat there I am told the food was very good. I would imagine that in the height of summer they could be a wait for the showers etc but no problems during our visit. There is a nice local pub just down the road and we used the bus each day to visit St Just and Penzance.
The owners of the site were very nice and we will be back no doubt next year.

Trevlayor is an ideal location however could do with a overhaul! On arrival you need to check in at the shop and to be fair it's not big but everything you need just in case and the owners are extremely lovely. We were non electric campers so guided to the field next to the main site. You have to pass wheelie bins which are overflowing and rubbish is everywhere. I would of thought for the amount of space around here it would be no hassle just to tidy this area up completely and make it look reasonable! The rubbish on the floor looks as though someone has dumped all their camping gear on the way out! The field does not look as though the grass is cut on a regularly. Again a mow around to keep it flat wouldn't go a miss. The showers are 20p for about 7 mins and to be honest they are hot however only 3 showers in the ladies for the whole site and quite a lot of queuing if you get there from 8am onwards. The showers are in desperate need of an upgrade with double the amount showers and basins! These are closed between 12 & 2 for cleaning. When you are in the showers all you hear are people talking about how dated it is. I have stayed at basic campsites with much better facilities and for the price you pay I feel you are not getting your monies worth and for the sake of a tidy up here and it would do wonders! I do find it a shame. There is a bar with real ales and you can have a cooked meal. We went to the queens Arms which is a 5 minute walk or go to the Kings arms in St Just where the food is amazing! The meat is from the local butcher across the road and think I had the best steak ever! They cover vegetarian dishes as well as local fish dishes all look good. The portions are large but you cannot fault the service or food. It's best to book in advance though!

Hi - thank you for your response. We appreciate your comments and have sought to address many of the issues that you have highlighted in your review. We have 'cleaned up' the entrance area to the non-electric camping field and hardcored it all behind so that we can store the big wheelie bins back out of the main through fare way now. The Mowing was admittedly lagging behind a little last season - we will do our best to keep on top of it this season! We have now added 2 new washing-up sinks in the laundry room bring that up to 4. We are currently in the process of upgrading our shower block facilities - with the installation of 5 (instead of 3) new 'free' hot showers in both the ladies and gents sides. We hope that if you were to return to us you would approve of our efforts - as we are well aware that we have such a wonderful site here and it deserves the best we can give it! Kind regards, Michelle
