“The perfect location”

Booking this cottage was an easy experience - emails replied by return and the instructions provided were perfect and clear to follow.
Pentrew is a beautiful cottage in fabulous location - it is just a 5 minute walk to the beautiful coastal path, 2 minute walk to the local dog friendly pub and a local restaurant, and a brisk 10 minute walk to the local shop. Penzance, St Ives, and Lands End are a very easy drive away.
The cottage is brilliantly appointed and full of character. The cottage has a fabulous garden which is surrounded by farm land - we enjoyed watching the cows being let out every morning to graze.
There is not wifi in this property but the mobile signal in the cottage is excellent.
But...the cottage had not been occupied the week prior to our stay - the first evening was rather chilly however by the following evening the cottage was lovely and warm and cosy.
The initial supply of fuel for the fire was very scant - logs and coal can be purchased from the local store but be aware of this if you are arriving late.
Also...there was no initial loo roll in the property - again be aware of this or take your own supply if you are arriving late.
Would I recommend this cottage to friends and family - absolutely - it is an absolute gem!

“A charming miner's cottage in a wild and beautiful landscape”

This property was exactly as described - an authentic Cornish miner's cottage. We particularly liked the front and rear conservatories which gave fantastic views of both the garden and the sea, so relaxing after a hectic day of sightseeing. The setting was beautiful and access to a coastal path for walks and the Levant mine was just 10 minutes down the end of the road. The proximity to local facilities such as pubs, Post Office and a convenience shop within walking distance in both Trewellard and Pendeen was an added bonus.

“Fantastic Cottage”
Reviewed September 16, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This is the best cottage we have ever stayed in and we have had many cottage holidays with our dogs over the years. Pentrew is extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. There are walks along the coastal path and the local pubs are all excellent and welcome dogs. We particularly like the North Inn. The cottage has a secure garden for our dog with wonderful views of the sea. We have booked again for next year as it is so lovely.

“Exceptional holiday rental”
Reviewed August 8, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We found this house in a fantastic location for both walking and pubs. The house was well stocked with books, maps and DVDs etc the conservatory was a great sun trap, and nice gardens, The locals in the pub were very friendly. Also for a great night try the Meadery at the end of the road, the beam engine museum is a short walk and is worth a visit. And great for cliff top walks, I would highly recommend this house to anybody wanting to explore this great part of the country.

“Great cottage, excellent location”

My wife and I had a marvellous 2 week stay in Pentrew over the Xmas period despite the wet weather. Our two grown up children joined us for a few days and there was still plenty of room for all. The terrific open fire kept the cottage really warm throughout. The facilities were all first class and I'm confident that we'll return quite regularly. The kitchen had plenty of room and was very well equipped, (apart from a dishwasher). The cottage is particularly good for dog owners as the garden is quite large and a 5 minute walk down Levant Road, (or in my case a lazy 1 min drive) leads to really great, (and safe) walks along the cliffs. The latter make or some great birdwatching with gannets to admire over the sea and peregrines, buzzards, merlin and ravens to absorb attention on land. The cottage has an excellent location in several other respects too. There are splendid views of the sea and ancient tin mine stone buildings. 2 and 10 minute walks lead you to the Trewellard Hotel and North Inn respectively. The latter does some really great curries. Just a little further afield in St Just you can be really spoilt for choice of good pubs / eateries around the central square alone. In addition McFaddens butchers produce the most wonderful pasties!
