Have visited several times. Food/drink is perfect. Only one criticism re food..I ordered the scampi and chips..perfect sized portion..but I have an aversion to food that is made out to be something that its not. The scampi was served in a metal miniature flower pot/bucket with the chips on top. It's a nice touch, but not in a traditional Cornish pub. Scampi and chips, fish and chips etc should be served the proper Cornish/English way... Nothing too fancy. This is a great pub, please don't spoil it by bringing "up country" ways of serving traditional food. It's not Rick Steins or Jamie Oliver's...which is why I and my friends love it!

All in all, a great pub...prob the best in St Just...as is very welcoming to visitors..something a certain other pub in St Just isnt!!!

I will be back...next time I ll be dragging the folks down as well

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our pub following your recent visit. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your visit and your food, and am sorry you didn't approve of our scampi buckets. Rest assured we have no aspirations to turn the pub into something it is not; the truth is I just love all the different ways that food can be served these days. Even before coming to this business, I have always loved cooking and presenting food. I couldn't just make fajitas at home, I had to go online and buy the sizzle plates and tortilla warmers too, although granted it didn't quite have the same effect when sitting down to eat them in front of the television!
When thinking of ways to present the scampi and chips, I actually wanted to go completely traditional and serve them in a basket, but for hygiene reasons that wasn't possible and I didn't want to use a plastic version. As our chips are already served in stainless steel buckets, I was delighted to find there was a larger version which turned out to be the perfect size for the scampi. Our steaks and burgers are served on boards with buckets of chips, and sometimes customers will ask for theirs to be served on a plate. We are happy to accommodate and as far as i'm concerned, if a customer is paying for food they are entitled to have it served however they wish (within reason of course lol). Apologies for the lengthy response; it is always good to have feedback and we look forward to welcoming you again. Kind Regards Neill & Angie

Impressive lunch time fresh triple decker sandwiches loaded up and served with awesome hand cut chips. Sat outside on a lovely sunny day but the interior also has a lovely old charm feel and we will be back to try dinner soon.

Really good crab sandwiches with generous salad. Food not cheap - but definitely good value - as good portions and freshly prepared.

This pub is right in the heart of St Just and we used it several times during our holiday. The food was consistently good and the landlady very welcoming. We didn't have to wait long to be served. We'll definitely be going back if we're in the area again.

My wife and I ate here recently and the welcome, beer and food were excellent. We both had a burger and the quality was excellent with home cut chips and nice accompaniments. Very welcome after a long coast walk. Our meal was a little slow coming but other than that faultless

Thank you for taking the time to write a review following your recent visit to our pub. We're so happy you enjoyed your burgers and apologize again for the length of time it took to serve them. I had thought a Pre-Easter Tuesday evening would have been a good time to introduce our new spring/summer menu, but didn't expect such a busy evening. Thank you for bearing with us though and we hope to see you again. Regards Neill and Angie
