“The perfect holiday retreat”
Reviewed June 2, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

The Stables is well equipped, beautifully presented, near the coast yet close to the Pembrokeshire coastal path. The newly opened beach cafe, the Wavecrest, offers tasty food but it's a shame it closes at 5pm. The Village Shop has started a take-away service of pizzas etc. Other eateries/pubs in Angle are The Hibernia and The Old Point House. On the coastal Path nearby is an old Fort. It opens Saturday and Sunday and the guided tour is very interesting. There's plenty of bird life too.

“A wonderful retreat”
Reviewed September 29, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

This is a beautiful holiday home in an excellent location. We have loved visiting Pembrokeshire for many years, and this was, without a doubt, the best appointed holiday home we have ever had in the area. Avril and Ray made us very welcome, so it was like visiting old friends, and we enjoyed peaceful days and an excellent refreshing time here. Add in that we had good weather, and it was a holiday that was impossible to fault. We hope to be back in future years...

“Grubby, scruffy, kitchen dirty, dated, uncomfortable, sleeps FOUR NOT FIVE”
Reviewed August 21, 2011 for a stay in August 2011

Really upset to arrive and find there was no-where for the fifth member of our party to sleep. After a cup of tea, from a grubby kettle, we discovered the rank sofa-bed and considered taking the mattress upstairs, only to realise that no spare bedding was provided. So, just how the owners think this rental sleeps five, is beyond belief. Overall the rental was dated, scruffy, the kitchen dirty and greasy - we had to wash everything we wanted to use. The sofas are miserable and the shower is useless. A lot of style over substance here. We have stayed in nicer youth hostels and paid considerably less. Definitely not worth the GBP1400 we paid for it. Had we paid 200, then expectations would be a lot less, but considering the amount of our hard earned cash we parted with for a desperately needed quality holiday we let unrefreshed and feeling cheated. We left early. The beach is also grubby, dog-fouled and when the tide is in there is a layer of scum to brave through before one reaches clearer water. The landscape is caravans and industrial, blighted and unattractive - its all ok if you keep eyes front. A very isolated location for young kids. There is a VERY basic village shop or you face the massive drive to the delightless shopping experience of the supermarket trio at Pembroke Docks. Bring a dog here, great doggy walks and no-one seems to mind fouling, bring a book, escape here, but dont think of long attractive coastal walks with kids. Go to Tenby, or better still Stakepole Quay or Carew.
On a positive note there was plenty of hot water for baths, just as well as it compensates for the useless shower and Penbroke castle is great.

I am very sorry they did not enjoy their stay. If we had been told straight away that they were not happy with the cleanliness of the Stable, We could have had it re-cleaned immediately. I had no recollection of 5 adults staying. I would not have agreed to it as the sofa bed was untried by me. It has been deleted from web site. We bought the cottages under a year ago and are continually upgrading and improving them. I may say, whilst not liking anything, the cottage/beach/shop/area, the family certainly left the Stable in a state worse than they found it. It took hours to put straight. It had been totally disrespected.
I would , however, like to say Thank you to the family. My cleaners have "upped their game". I have moved apace with getting sofas changed(it was on my list)This winter, we are putting in a new bathroom & shower. It is very important to me and a joy, when visitors come and have a lovely holiday. I get to know the most super people and it makes it very worthwhile. This has really hurt me, but I take the points and am working hard to improve the Stable, so we can continue to get the really lovely comments that people give us. I always accept gladly ideas, critisims people have. It is great to hear the good reviews and we welcome those, of course.
I would like to have offered the family a gesture of goodwill if they would like to return, but it seems from their review that nothing was right, for miles around. I cannot take responsibility for that, nor do I agree. I therefore think they would be happier elsewhere. We, and lots of us, who return to Angle year after year, love Angle. We love the end of the road, the peace & quiet, the views, the beach, the lack of modernity, the walks, friendly people, our cottages in our special location and we will continue to work hard so you can all enjoy it too.
