Got a good rate on a spa break that included DBB & a spa treatment.
Our room was in the schoolmasters house, and was very spacious with a nice bright bathroom. Only downside was that if people were talking outside in the corridor, you could have joined in with the conversation.
Dinner in the Oak Room restaurant was delicious, and considering that we were staying in Christmas party season ( when so often food quality slips) I was quite surprised at the quality. Essentially we had posh pie and mash, but it was really good.
Breakfast was nice and plentiful served in the nice surroundings of the Oak Room.
One downside, the bar is a bit clinical.
Spa treatment and facilities was OK. Thermal suite was a nice touch.

Returned again for new years eve gala dinner, stayed extra night each side of new year so could chill. Hotel was very friendly, rooms comfortable every thing you ,dinner on 30th was well presented. New years eve gala dinner was excellent fillet of beef excellent as serving a large group all at same time, staff worked really hard well done. Entertainment first class group played for all tastes. Our party of 9 was mixed ages from 21 to 76 but all had great time. We have already booked for new year coming so thank you to all staff for a wonderful time.

Room Tip: All rooms are of good quality

We went to Albrighton Hall for a one night stay with the spa reviver package. It cost us £169 including privilege room, 3 course evening meal, breakfast, full use of the spa facilities both days and £35 worth of treatments each. We were given a room on check in that we didn't consider privilege as it didn't have the 4 poster bed or view of the lake which we were promised. We rang down to reception and the lady couldn't have been more helpful and the room we were then given was more than satisfactory, very impressive in fact! The atmosphere is very laid back and the building is beautiful in a stunning location. The food was lovely and so much of it and the breakfast was brilliant with a huge variety of choice. The spa is lovely , as were the treatments even though the massages were supposed to be 30 minutes and were more like 20! Fabulous stay overall, will definitely come back.

Room Tip: If you can get a view of the lake, do! It is a stunning view to wake up to!

We had a last minute three night break here over New Year. It's a lovely old house with good, well appointed and spacious rooms. The staff were particularly good- well trained, attentive and very accommodating. The food was good and very reasonably priced. Service was excellent and the restaurant was a beautiful room. The icing on the cake for us over a cold and wet New Year, were the pool and Spa. Lovely, and all of it in a great part of the country at a very fair price. We will go back and certainly consider this hotel chair elsewhere.

We have been going away for New Years Eve, on and off for abut 20 years.

Our ideal break is a warm welcoming hotel, with good quality food, a decent spa and pool, and of course a gala dinner/dance on New Years Eve. Hopefully at not too high a price.

This is the first time that we have returned to a hotel. We stayed here two years ago and had a fantastic time.

This year we were not disappointed, it was even better.

We were on a dinner b&b plan.

The only criticism we had was that the set meal plan for dinner was the same on nights one and three.

The Restaurant Manager was very kind and and allowed us to choose different items from the A la carte menu.

The staff at this hotel are great, always pleasant and accommodating.

We stayed in a prestige room in the annex. The room was large, with a fridge, the usual tea coffee makings, a lounge area with three piece suite. The bed was comfortable. No complaints at all.

We have already booked our rooms for next year.

Room Tip: We prefer to stay in the annexe, at the far end, but it is a fair walk to the restaurant and spa are...

We stayed for five nights Dec 27-31. A wonderful hotel from greeting to departure. First impressions count, and Aaron on Reception was exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable and very willing to assist with our large quantity of luggage. Our room in the newer wing was large, clean and perfect for our stay (Room 49). Our daughter's bed was set up before arrival and our room quiet and comfortable. Wifi a little hit and miss, but a walk to the bar and we could use it more adequately. Chris in the restaurant for breakfast each morning was lovely. Remembered our room number and had a table available for us upon arrival. The breakfast buffet was substantial as were the additional breakfast options (eggs Benedict are delish).
Will definitely be back again when next in the UK. The gardens and surrounds are beautiful and worth staying a very short drive out of Shrewsbury to have a bit of space away from the town. Perfect location for families looking for a quieter break or romantic getaway for couples.

The area surrounding the hotel is lovely, we stayed on New Years Eve and the weather wasnt the best, however I can imagine in the summer with the views this hotel has to offer would be very nice. The hotel itself is dated and quite scruffy in parts. We stayed in the Lakeside suite and the walls in the corridor were abit tatty. The room was very spacious but again was dated. Our telephone did not work and advised reception who did not do anything. Also requested an extra pillow but did not get this. Not alot if any at all atmospehere in the bar area, and the glasses we were served our drinks in were dirty which we asked to be replaced. Wouldnt recommend this as was pricey for what we expected his to be
