This beautiful scenic hideaway is a must to visit, especially if you're travelling the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand. You have the choice of soaking in the public hot mineral pool at the bottom of the bush park, private pools, or walking up through native bush to the top pools. Whatever you choose, you will come away feeling relaxed and revived! These are natural springs which have been used for their healing power for at least a century, especially by local Maori. You can also choose to take a small walk in a beautiful stand of Nikau Palms and native bush, or go for a hike of over 2 hours. This bush will not disappoint, as it is full of native birds, eg tui, bellbirds and kereru (wood pigeon). You may wish to have a picnic on the large lawns or take a plunge in the cold pool. If you need a snack these are also available on-site, with a cafe across the road for even more choice. There's also accommodation across the road too, if you want a real outback kiwi experience - and the cost is reasonable. Hope you love the place like I do!!
