Take a walk, relax in the hot pools - perfect. You can even have your BBQ on the premesis. There are walks for every need from 20 min up to 2 hours. Very friendly staff and good coffee

For a measley $8, you can hang in the nice enough pool area beside the entrance, or walk (sealed path) through stunning nikau forest to the upper pools. Despite the somewhat veterinary stainless steel liners to these three little pools, the overall ambiance is just lovely.
Pay just $4 more, though, and you can have a private pool for half an hour. Warmly recommended and ridiculously cheap.
These pools are privately run, but on DOC land. There are a few informative signs around the area, and some promising looking walks which I regret that I didn't allow time for.
Eft Pos available, some food, souvenir shop and reasonable changing facilities.

....loved it! It was a rainy dank day but up the windy path we found two lovely little stainless steel baths which would sit about 10 (bit uncomfortably if all were strangers I suppose) but there were only a few of us there. There are no frills about this place and actually all advertised amenities but the pools themselves were closed, but the rain forest setting is lovely as is the stroll up to the baths. The entry price is cheap as chips and the experience is very nice. Do take time to stop in if you are passing by and if you are heading from Gisborne beware the road signs which seem to send you up a sheep path and continue another 5k!!
