On arrival I admitted to thinking why have they sent me to the back of beyond. Rocks, dust, miles from no-where. However, the apartments, set over two floors are just over a year old, are modern with all the convenience of home. There are two pools, one for the younger children, a small bar providing drinks and food. There are sun lounges around the pool as well as tables and chairs for chilling, eating and enjoying the entertainment put on in the evenings. There is a shuttle service to and from the beach and shops.

For me, I felt this apartment was ideal for people wanting to do little more than get away from crowds, to relax, swim and sun-bathe. If you want to pop out in the evenings for a drink or for night entertainment, you will need a car!! As mentioned in the other reviews, there are still teething problems. The A/C was not working fully, we had no Internet or Wi-fi access after the first day but we later found out you can rent a mobile phone. Building work is still going on in the area and at the site but the work at the hotel appears to be in the final stage and is in the new apartments so there was very little disturbance.

Also, as mentioned in the other reviews, the staff were cheerful, polite and very helpful. The apartments, internally and externally, were always cleaned and tidied to a high standard. The TV showed the Disney Channel, BBC world news and Sky news in English but most of the channels were in German or Spanish. However, a huge selection of films are provided from which you can select 3 films per day at reception who will put them on a USB stick for you to watch in the apartment. There is also a DVD player should you or your children have DVDs you want to watch.

It should also be noted that reception is not open 24 hours so if you do not think you will arrive at the hotel before 11pm, you need to phone ahead to ensure a key is left for you.

Room Tip: If possible request balcony to face the pool.

Stayed in this beautiful accommodation in July with my partner and 4 children and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Apartments are amazing, staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful always there for you if needed so pleasant to get on with. Yes building work going on but didn't affect us in anyway, bit isolated but just a 5 min taxi ride to Puerto Rico and there a shuttle bus on until 4.30pm each day. As for timeshare are rep. was Jeanette who was also very nice and not pushy at all if you don't have it to buy then you just tell it . Don't be put of with bad reviews I was worried right up to we got there but honestly couldn't in is a great place.

We have just returned home from a relaxing and nice week at Atlantic Sands Hotel. The weather was at its best, the apartment new and luxurious, and the staff always smiling and service minded. The hotel is located in what we learned used to be a popular camping area for hippies! Not many of those around anymore. We found the peace and quiet of this place to suit us just fine, and with the prizes on taxi fares in this area, it was no problem to travel to more crowed places. There were also daily free bus transport to the Amadores beach and Puerto Rico. Amadores beach is highly recommended!
We also found the food in the bar to be both good and with nice prized, but with a limited number of dishes. The Tauro Restaurant down the road can be recommended. A nice walking distance from the hotel, in Playa del Cura, there is also a Spar marked with a nice assortment. To get back to the hotel with the groceries, there was always the option to take a cab at the nice prize of about 3 €.
There were some issues concerning the power during our stay, but we didn’t find them to impact us much. Then again we didn’t spend much time at the hotel during day time. Unfortunately the air condition didn’t work in our apartment, and hopefully this will be fixed soon.

The resort is not on mains electric therefore A/C in our apartment did not work and regular power cuts were the norm. No fun coming back to a fridge & freezer of ruined food. No apology from reception Huge generator outside the complex supplied spasmodic electricity but regular noise! Shuttle bus was taken out of service as I believe it was not licenced or insured.

A hire car is recommended due to the remoteness of the resort.
Lunch vouches a waste of time due to the poor food and tiny portions.

Lots of promises but with no substance.

Why would anyone consider buying from this company? The resort should not be open to the public as it is far from finished. Smacks of desperation. Trying to sell to survive.

Buyer beware.

I have just returned from Atlantic Sands after an enjoyable holiday with family. A nice complex overal but a few teething problems need fine tuning. It is a new complex so there is still some building work going on but to be honest you don't really notice until you walk out of the complex. There is not much in the form of scenery due to the work and rubble outside the complex. The place itself is at the top a long isolated road and we were informed by a bar member on arrival that the free shuttle bus/taxi has just recently been stopped the week before. Reception can get you a taxi and it costs about 5-6 Euros to Puerto Rico. Apparently Resorts4All had been told to contact customers and make them aware of this beforehand but needless to say no email or phone call!! If you dont mind walking Playa Del cura is about a 20 minute walk if you turn right and follow the road around. Playa Del Cura is much quieter than Puerto Rico though. There is a Spar to buy groceries and they deliver free if you purchase more than 30 Euros of groceries if you prefer. A family we met had this and they said the service was very good. The groceries were delivered bang on time the nest morning. Guantanamos Restaurant at the end of the road (10mins walk) very nice. Ask for your 10% discount card from reception before going, as were not not told about it until after. Also, Tauro restaurant opposite Guantanamos very nice and worth a try. Can also recomment El Torro steakhouse in Puerto Rico for an excellent steak and child prices are very reasonable (3.95 euros).

The villas are excellent, well maintained, marbelled throughout and well equipped. T'v's and a/c's in all bedrooms and living area We didn't get the bottle of champagne on arrival as promised! We mentioned this and it was supposed to being sorted out but still no champagne! A DVD player would have been handy though. You can however get some films from reception which they put on a usb stick or take your own as they are not the most up to date films.

The lunch time meal vouchers are a waste of time to be honest. valid between 12-2 which is fair enough. You don't get a choice you get what's given to you, so not sure who vegetarians manage and the quality is poor. It's nothing off their normal menu just cheap stuff put together. Eg. pasta twists in tomato sauce with hot dog sausages chopped up in it. The portion sizes vary too, tuna salad on one particular day and it came on side plates with about 1 tablespoons worth if tuna and on another occasion they had ran out by 1pm so the family in the villa next to ours were offered beans on toast or cheese on toast as an alternative! We also ate food off the regular menu which was nice, manly snack type food eg. burgers, hot dogs. toasted sandwhiches and not bad priced. The staff at the Oasis bar were great though, really friendly and helpful.

Booked the deal through a voucher deal but it was not stated about having to attend a presentation. Soon realised this when I received confirmation from resort4all! Frank was our rep for the talk, we found him fine and had no problems at all. It lasted about 90 mins but we were chatting about other things too. Sounded a good deal at the time but we didn't purchase as I couldnt commit financially due to home circumstances and the more we thought about it certain things seemed a little odd with the company.

Overall a nice complex but a little isolated at the moment and once it has got more established with building work complete and more amenaties around, it will be really great.

After returning from a week in Gran Canaria, we as a family really enjoyed ourselves and made some life time friends. Yes after reading the reviews before going all of us were a bit apprehensive as usually we have done all inclusive. But all the staff made us feel welcome and tended to our every need. Nat, Jess Dave and Wendy were brilliant and nothing too much trouble thanks guys/dolls. Although it was a voucher we bought and the price was unbelivable we know we would be having a meeting which would involve some sort of selling, after going in with an open mind we found Jeanie ( the so called tattooed monster) a breath of fresh air she was open and honest and said it how it was, yes they have a job to do and thats to sell the deal, but like anything if you want to do it ,its a good offer. If you dont then this meeting with one of the reps wont spoil your holiday. All the staff was lovely Jeanie even came with me on the boat to mogan market as my husband is sea sick on a pedalo.Metioning all staff alfonso, frank, jeanie, lyndon, lee bradley, nat, jess dave and wendy this was a fab holiday and well worth every penny. After staying at these villas we have decided to self cater more the amenities within them was brilliant and yes they are still building but this does not effect your holiday and if anything does all of the staff will assist as much as possible .. Just a note to say yes it is isolated but a free mobile during your stay and free taxi to and from beach/town during the day is given. the taxi s however are cheap and regular once in puerto rico .. The nicest resturent we ate in as a family has to be san miguels lovely food. There are also takeaway who deliver to the villsa. The pool is spacious and clean and accommadates kids of all ages mine are 8,13,15 and they entertained themselves all day and not an electrical or hanheld device in place bliss.

Room Tip: We as a family with 3 kids had a villa that looked onto the pool which was handy.

I had read various comments about this resort after booking and i must admit I was expecting a mixed result. The real downside of the resort is that it is a bit remote with nothing around it. Perfect if you just want to chill and do zero. Guantanumo restaurant is the nearest to the resort accessible a good 10min walk along a dusty and dark road from the resort. We eat there twice, but in my opinion it is overated and a bit pricy in comparison to other local places a short taxi ride away.
The resorts mini bus is always on hand during the day but stops by 4.30pm which means you have 2 taxi's a day to enjoy any nightlife and access to more resonably priced restaurants in Peurto Rico (taxi fare 5 -6 Euros a time) in the evening. Bradleys eating recommendations came up trumps.
The mini bus drivers Bradley and Carrotcruncher were very helpful, informative and obliging, nothing was a problem for them. First class.
This was true of all the staff on site from the managers Alfonso to the pool bar staff, everyone was super helpful.
Our apartment was beautiful and our aircon was working a treat. UK TV channels were extremely limited and we were assured that this in the process of being addressed with new wireless installation pending. Rooms were spotless and cleaners did a great job everyday.
There is no gym or shop on site as the website states, and one bank of apartments has yet to be completed inside only. The pool is quite small for the size of resort, but served well just to refresh after baking in the glorious sunshine. Don't count on any stunning views from your balcony as you are pretty much surrounded by dry barren land and rock.
Over all we had a really enjoyable stay and would recommend this resort.
We didn't have any horror stories to tell about the selling pitch from the sales team on site, They explained what was on offer and let us make our mind up if it was something that was of interest. Overall the staff made the difference, a really enjoyable holiday experience.
