Visited on a rainy Saturday night rather than walk into Bakewell while staying in the village. The bar is small and was quiet when we arrived but the restaurant side was busy. A real fire was going in the grate to warm us up and dry us off. The beer choice was good and you could even have a beer tapas to try a few - £3 for 3 thirds of ale. Food choice was good and came with either chips or mash, veg or salad. Rabbit and pheasant pie, mash, green beans, ratatouille was very nice, treacle tart and ice cream for pud was tasty (no choice of custard was my only complaint!). Nice atmosphere was livened up as diners came into the bar after their meal. All in all, a nice evening, reasonably priced and nice staff.
