Reviewed April 12, 2012

we have just spent a night at this premiere INN, and it ticked all the bxes for an overnight stay. WIFI for £3/ 24 hrs was a welcome addition. Staff were polite and friendly, rooms were very clean.

The value menu was an excellent choice, and the staff in the beefeater were very friendly and attentive. The food was lovely, especially the breakfast.

Thankyou to everyone.

The hotel was fairly average, cannot fault the rooms on cleanlieness, very clean and quite spacious rooms. There was not enough tea and coffee facilities for 2 people. A wider range should be offered, also no telephone in rooms. The television was quite small and hard to see from the beds. The staff weren't very welcoming and were not smiling on our arrival. It is a very average standard hotel and we would expect that from £29 per night. However for one night we paid up to £90 for one night including breakfast. It was impossible to find a room at the premier inn that was £29 a night. I would expect this price for a much nicer and high standard quality hotel, however this was just an average simplistic hotel. Far to pricey for the room and not worth the money. I bought wi-fi for the night at £3 for 24 hours, the wi-fi did not even work, very disappointing to say the least, It kept on connecting and disconnecting and there was nothing wrong with my computer, just the hotels wi-fi. The only reason i would come back to the hotel would be the beefeater/coldra restaurant across the road, the food was absolutely delicious, some of the nicest food iv'e ever had. It was cooked to perfection and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend booking a table as it does get quite busy in there, but definitely worth the wait. The breakfast in the morning was also very tasty. we had booked an 'all you can eat premier cooked breakfast' however, the cooked breakfast was made to order and not buffet style as we expected, so it was not all you can eat. The continental breakfast was. Still a very good breakfast and quality food. Definitely don't waste your money on the wi-fi as it doesn't work, but definitely book a table at the beefeater, fabulous food and great service.

Room Tip: choose a room on the left side or of odd numbers, so it is at the back and not disurbed by the traff...

This Premier Inn is conveniently located for the motorway and a cheaper alternative to many hotels nearer Cardiff. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. The attached Harvester is good quality and the staff there were also very friendly.

Stayed here for a long weekend visiting the Cardiff area. We've stayed at this Premier Inn a few times and have always found our room to be clean and comfortable, and the staff were mostly very friendly. We did have a problem with some noisy idiots in the room opposite on the first night (trying to get into our room, knocking on doors, talking, playing music etc. but this was not the fault of the hotel).
We ate at the Coldra (the pub across from the Premier Inn) on the first night of our stay, and although the food is a little pricey for what it is, we did enjoy this meal, and the waiter who served us was lovely; very good at his job and very friendly.
Breakfast on both mornings was the usual Premier Inn breakfast; I had the continental breakfast (you can eat as much as you like from a choice of cereals and granola, dried fruit and seeds to sprinkle on your cereal, fresh fruit, various flavours of yoghurt, toast, crumpets, mini chocolate muffins etc. etc....! Also all juices and tea or coffee), and my partner had a cooked breakfast which is also served on an 'all you can eat' basis. The staff who served us were lovely and friendly.
This hotel is a good base for visiting Cardiff, Caerleon and the surrounding area, and I'd definitely recommend it.
