We were looking for a quiet B&B close to Wentwood and we found a perfect spot. This B&B is quiet, clean and the rooms are well appointed. We had great service and were booked into a couple of really good local restaurants in Magor, a place we had passed many a time on the M4 without realising that it was much more than just a service area. We found good walking in Wentwood an on the shores of the Severn, Chepstow with its amazing castle no mare then 30 minutes away. All in al this was a great place to stay and we would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet place but with many activities close by.

Hello Jeff. I'm delighted to learn that this is your first ever review on Tripadvisor .. and that we inspired you to leave us lovely feedback. South East Wales is a great place to visit any time of the year - we have an abundance of heritage on our doorstep and the places you mention are just a few of the jewels we have. The Usk Valley itself towards the Brecon Beacons is an area of outstanding beauty and has been the focus of poets, artists and sculptors for hundreds of years. We are thrilled that you chose to stay at our 5* Guest House and hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you back sometime soon. With warm wishes, Garth Davis

My 3 sisters and I have just returned from a one night stay at The Old Rectory.
We couldn't have chosen anywhere more welcoming. The rooms are perfect and spotlessly clean. We were looked after by Sue who went out of her way to ensure we had a lovely time. She booked a table for us at The Old Barn for dinner which we highly recommend. And breakfast was really good and fresh. Without Sue this place would be very good, but with her it is amazing.
We have already planned to return next year.
Thank you Sue.

Recently stayed at the Old Rectory and it was a very pleasant experience. The owner was extremely helpful and very friendly. Room was very clean with tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Excellent shower and bathroom with under floor heating(bonus). Very comfortable bed. Although you have to pay extra for continental breakfast we were provided free of charge with tea/coffee and cereals. I would gladly stay here again. Pity about the weather!

Hi Colin ! Thank you for taking the time to post a review here on Tripadvisor. We have just received our certificate of excellence for 2011 so we consider every comment to be valuable as feedback for our small business. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and yes I agree our beds are exceptionally comfortable - we tried many before deciding ! Sorry we couldn't help with the weather ! We look forward to your next visit to us. Best Wishes, Garth Davis

This was our first visit to the The Old Rectory. After a 6 hour car journey, you want a clean comfortable room with a touch of luxury, all of which we found when we arrived.
The room was well equiped and with a great en-suite marble bathroom, which had a huge and powerful shower.
The breakfast was exactly what we needed to set us up for the day and there was plenty of choice.
Location is great, close enough to major roads, without the noise and business.
We will certainly be staying again.

I just spent one night here in April 2012 whilst on business. The accomodation is 5 star and the prices are more 3 star.
I was impressed by the decor of the room ,the size of the bathroom and also the free wireless.
There was a warm welcome on arrival.
The continental breakfast in the morning was fabulous.
I would thoroughly recommend this Boutique B&B

Room Tip: Bay room is gorgeous
