We have just returned from 2 weeks in the Nelson/Marlborough region and Kimeret Place was a delightful find- we were sorry we only had one night to stay, and will certainly stay longer next time we visit. It's ideally located not far from the main road but no noise whatsoever, and only minutes to Abel Tasman Park or back to Richmond/Nelson. The quiet rural setting is very restful. Our room had a private balcony that looked across to farms and the inlet. There is a wonderful Spa and Pool. The room was decorated beautifully and everything was immaculate, with great attention to detail. I thought the bathroom was brand new it was so clean. Gill was a wonderful host, and the breakfast fare was terrific. I'd highly recommend to anyone visiting this region.

When travelling through the South Island of New Zealand I was passing through the Nelson area looking for a quiet relaxing bed and breakfast to kick back and relax for a few days. I was pointed towards Kimeret Place by friends of mine and am more than happy I followed their advice.

Upon arrival at the Nelson airport Gill Knight met me at the airport as she insisted on picking me up for the transfer to their property. After a pleasant short drive through Southern Nelson we reached the property which immediatly brought a sense of peace to my soul. An initial walk around the grounds highlighted the reason why people come to this wonderful part of the world. With vast sweeping views of the South Islands mountian ranges and large tidal waterway the property is perched on a hill in an idyllic location. Surrounded by notable vinyards and orchards it presents one with the most relaxing of country retreats. Upon further discussion with Gill and her husband Ian it became aparent that their extensive background in the luxury yachting industry translated perfectly into their dream of providing luxury boutique accomodation in a beautiful location which exceptional attention to detail. Gill has created a prefectly pleasant atmosphere from the the moment you enter the gate and wander through the lush gardens to the terrace and swimming pool area overlooking the mountains. The main house has two very large rooms with ensuites above the main living area which radiates with warmth from the lovely kitchen and breakfast area.

The cabins which are detached from the house offer a little more seclusion and are imaculately presented and maintained. Alice the wonder dog a beautiful golden retriever is a constant companion when you want some company in the garden. She will love you for life if you chose to play ball with her. Overall the experience for me was even more relaxing than I anticipated and provided me with a warm atmosphere and a comfortable base for a few short days to explore the beautiful surrounding region.

Our first visit to this region. Everything was perfect. The location, the property, the facilities, our host and finally the weather.
Such a pity we were only booked for one night. When we revist this area will definitely stay at Kimeret Place again and stay longer.
Excellent food in the village overlooking the estuary

We absolutely loved our stay at Kimeret Place! Our hosts Clare & Peter were so welcoming and lovely. Beautiful surroundings and good location for exploring the nearby Abel Tasman National Park. Awesome breakfast as well!

We thoroughly enjoyed our three day stay at Kimeret Place. The accomodations were attractive, clean and comfortable, the hosts, Clare and Peter Jones were very gracious and knowledgeable, and the breakfast was excellent. The location near Mapua is also central to the Nelson area and Abel Tasman Park.
