Very welcoming & friendly atmosphere, happy to have little children & make a fuss of them.
Well worth the short stroll down the side steat (side of iguana bar) opposite bus stop 16.

The only place I've found in skiathos that does proper pita bread, the seafood was fresh & tasty & the traditional Greek stuff was good.
Good value for money

Incredible food, great value for money, fantastic service-with-a-smile, and a wonderful Greek atmosphere. We loved it so much we went there 3 times in the space of our two week holiday!

YAMAS!

This place is simply the best. Family run, home cooked food, excellent service, good value. We've gone back time and again and it's always great. Leave room to try the orange cake! it's sublime.

We were recommended to this taverna by someone in our hotel. It is situated behind the Iguana Supermarket opposite the Skiathos Princess Hotel. You have to walk down a track at the side of the supermarket where it joins a road which takes you up a small rise. To the left you will see the sign for Avli and you continue on up until reaching the entrance. Tables are set out on a terrace with unspectacular views towards the hills but don't let that put you off. We went twice during our holiday. We sat down at our table & a waiter deposited bread, real pitta, aubergine salata & garlic butter. For starters a prawn saganaki & kalamari . The portions were extremely good and both dishes were cooked extremely well. Main courses were snapper fillet Spetsiota & a lamb stifado in a clay pot. The fish was so fresh it was like you could still smell the sea. The Spetsiota sauce was well seasoned & well worth the choice. The lamb was tender & so hot that I decanted it onto a plate. Doing this also displayed the classic ingredients of a good stifado & the quality & quantity. A litre of local wine at 9 Euros was extremely good. On our second visit we are welcomed enthusiastically by Kostas the owner. We have mushrooms in a crème sauce with parsley, and 4 large green peppers grilled to perfection. Chefs special pork tenderloin and a lamb kleftiko completed our meal with the usual litre of wine. The bread remaining from our starters was eagerly used to soak up the sauce & juices from our mains. 45 Euros the first night & 39.50 on our return. Without question it is definitely worth a visit for traditional well cooked food with great hospitality & service, great quality local wine and a fair price.

The food in this Taverna is very good. The bread and Aubergine paste are delicious . Lots of people eat here and rightly so. The owner is a lovely host and explains the specials on offer. We went several times during our stay , we liked it so much.
