We stayed here on our first night in NZ and have since spent 3 weeks in other parks around the country. This was BY FAR the worst! It has absolutely no redeeming features. After paying for the shower my boyfriend's shower was a cold dribble. We couldn't get out of there quick enough!

This place is a absolute JOKE. Not a convenient place to get to and from, horrible place for a child. You pay top $$$ then you have to buy tokens for the shower $1.00 for 9 min. And your lucky if it is hot. Don't bother with the WIFI $10.00 for an hour$ 20.00 for 24 hours if you can connect.
After tracking around the nth island for the past 2 weeks this would have to be the worst place to stay. Our camper parked on such an angle that sink won't drain and things keep rolling to the front of the van.

My colleague and I stayed here for just under a week although we were booked in to stay for 2 weeks. On the 4th morning we had to request our sheets on our beds be changed, instead of our request being met we were handed our sheets to change our beds ourselves. We also requested new towels, as they also hadn't been changed again we were handed clean ones, only after we had taken our old ones to the reception. We decided after this shocking service that we would find somewhere else to stay for the remainder of our business trip and when asking for the refund we were declined and had to return the next day to sort it out. The room itself was average but the service definitely made this stay awful.

My husband and I stayed in a deluxe cabin for 2 nights. The main room had a double bed, bit of a kitchen and the back room had bunk beds and a toilet & sink.
Positives:
- Having the back room provided us with extra space where we were able to store our luggage and larger items.
- The wall radiant heater (timed to 30 minutes) and oil heater did plenty to have us cooking by the night.
- The shower block showers were clean and hot. People complain about the cost of using the showers but if you would like them to be kept in a good condition (like they were) I believe the charge is necessary
Negatives:
- The park was having some work done, so it was very noisy and hard to get your car in and out due to the large trucks and other machinery in the way. It was also a bit embarrassing having the workers "check you out" as you were going to and from the shower.
- The deluxe cabin comes with no linen or soap. Towels are $2 from reception (totally soaked in bleach - I can still smell it!) I would have thought the room would have had a hand towel and soup in the bathroom.
For $85 a night I guess I can't complain. Other than the early morning upgrades, the property was quiet and all we required.

Didn't like the area- police cars and choppers going all the time. Didnt feel safe. Machine I used in the laundry broke down halfway through cycle which ended up being a real incovenience.Staff were pleasant but totally inflexible. I stay in heaps of places in this price bracket and would rate this one well toward the bottom.

$40 a night (unpowered site) and you still have to pay extra for a shower says it all. What $40 pays for if not at least the use of a shower is anyone's guess. Not a particularly expensive part of Auckland considering the liquor shops next door with 15 space car parks, so land surely isn't the expensive thing. All this place tries to do is get every cent they can out of you. Oh and if you buy one too many shower tokens, don't expect a refund, the $1 refund is too much to ask.

We stayed for four nights during the school holidays because it was close to the city and convenient to visit friends and family.

Positives included proximity to main roads, set back from the main road (so no road noise), clean facilities, kind staff (who did their best), cheap.

Negatives - unacceptable behaviour from other guests, security struggling to control these people late into the night (2am), speeding drivers (through the very small campground - endangering people) and possible flea bites from the room.

Security were doing their best but the police should have been called much earlier!!
I wouldn't choose to stay there again but mostly because of the drinking, foul language and unacceptable manners of some guests (two sets on 2 separate nights).

Room Tip: Maybe this place would be better if it was not the school holidays - although the people disturbing...
