Good location, pretty good rooms (clean and light with a nice view over the water to Hobart CBD), all in all quite good value for money. It is however quite tricky to get to and if you miss the one and only turn off its a bit of a roundabout trip to get back in.
Only negative feedback would be don't book the delux king room - I'm not sure where the owners read about king beds but two singles pushed together doesn't fit the conventional description and was pretty disappointing.

Room Tip: If you're wanting water and city views make sure you check out/ask about the room locations as o...

This motel is great value for money.. The room we had was quite large with a view over the river, it was clean and comfortable with all required facilities.
Access to and from the motel took a bit of getting used too, however the manager gave a few clues as to which lane to stay in and what signs to look out for.The free WiFi was a bonus.
A large shopping center and restaurants are close by.

Room Tip: rooms on the high side are quieter.

At first bit disconcerted by the location but came to realize that the Motel was very accessible and being close to but not in the city suited us really well. The motel fittings are in the process of being upgraded but have to say the king size bed was new and extremely comfortable. It was great being able to sit outside the room and have a drink whilst soaking in the view across to Hobart. Most days we could see the mist from the ocean rolling in over Hobart. Glad we stayed here rather than in the city.

This motel is not new, but is clean, comfortable, convenient to Hobart and Eastern Shore and is remarkably quiet despite being beside the Tasman Hwy.
The triple rooms look west to Mt Wellington range and the city. They have a private balcony overlooking a tree studded paddock which made our stay very relaxing.
These rooms are are airy with plenty of seating including lounge seats and balcony furniture. They have a full bathroom, good sized fridge, cutlery and crockery, lots of hanging space but no shelves or drawers. The beds are firm and quite low. Very helpful staff happily found us extra clothes-hangers and gave the room service that suited us.

Room Tip: If staying for more than a night or two, I suggest the west facing triple rooms with private balcony...

Great views. Really difficult initially to find and complicated to get back to Hobart but worth it once you work it all out.
Very clean rooms with everything you need. Furniture very old and worn bur bed wonderfully comfortable with good linen

We needed to be at the airport very early the next day so our requirements were basically just a cheap but decent place to put down our heads for the night within a reasonable drive of the airport and City View fitted the bill very nicely. The bed was huge with good quality linen and there was a little table & chairs inside the window and one right outside the room as well, to sit and enjoy the beautiful views of the city. The room was on the higher side of the motel complex so we weren't bothered by traffic noise despite being very near a busy road. The bathroom is very basic but we didn't expect much more than that for what we paid for the night and considered it great value for our quick stopover in Hobart. For dinner we drove a few minutes to Bellerive, bought fish & chips and tucked into them on the delightful beach down there and there seemed to be quite a good range of restaurants down there too. The only criticism I would have is the use of air freshener in the room, as mentioned by other reviewers, it actually made my eyes sting and we had to leave the front door open until we went to bed to try and air the room out, although my husband wasn't affected by it.

Room Tip: Definitely try to get a room on the upper side of the complex further from the road

Friends had stayed here years ago and recommended City View...unfortunately the tone was set when we saw the 'Budget' sign....the location is great high on a hill overlooking the city which was lovely despite the smoke from the nearby fires.....it was also rather tricky to get to (even with a GPS) if you are driving as it took longer than expected. The motel is very tired (perhaps hence it being Budget), and needs help.......walking into the room we just uttered "oh no"....apart from the QS bed and flat screen tv suspended from the wall, everything else was so old and daggy.....I know space was limited but we are in 2013!....you could eat in the room, but having to wash up dishes in a bowl and in the bathroom wasn't nice.....the bathroom whilst having nice hot water pressure had the shower screen that clings to you when wet!!!......my pet hate in motels/hotels is when no facewasher being included......I enquired about that and told that "thats why we are Budget, saves costs".....well replace the complimentary shampoos/soaps etc and provide a facewasher instead!!!! other motels have shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers...am sure that could work.......$4 a load to use the washing machine and dryer per load was excessive as other places had been complimentary out of Hobart.....on the morning we were leaving, Grant was hurry us and others along to get moving, by taking the room keys and dumping the new laundry supplies....in other words....get your skates on!!!! I also found it weird that to get to reception one had to press a doorbell and wait for Grant to open the door.....understandable "afterhours", but not within business hours.........wont be returning
