Been going here since i was a kid, and have been going at least once every year. I loved going as the history of the war and planes intrigued me! Definitely a place to go to learn about our city and everything else too!

Well worth visiting. Friendly staff who are most enthusiastic. Displays are good and there is so much to see. Lots of nice art works as well. Good cafe with home bakes. Lots to learn not just the pottery but they also hold some of the Staffordshire hoard. Car park is on the right before the no entry street where museum is on.

Affordable (free, or donations!), and easy to spend a good 2-3 hours here! We have been numerous times, and the centre area changes regularly to keep it interesting!

Definately a go to place for kids, I have a 6 year old niece who loves it

I would highly recommend this place!
I went here with my toddler and it was brilliant. I will definitely be going back.
Lots of activities for the children to do whilst I studied the display. For example, dressing up, colouring, games etc.
Free to enter but a recommended donation of £3.
A small shop full of lovely gift ideas which are reasonably priced.
There is no parking attached to the museum but plenty of car parks within walking distance.

My grandson who is coming up to 3 years of age loved the museum and so did I. Nice and easy to get around, few things for kiddies to interact with and nice snacks and drinks in the cafe. The only thing missing for him was a dinosaur so I need to find some that has dinos now !

We had an animatronic dinosaur just a week or two back. Keep a look-out in our what's on for other events!

I have been visiting this museum since I was a child, not much has changed! However, it’s free to enter and is a good place to spend an hour or two when in the city.

The main floor has the history of staffordshire from when settlers first arrived in the area. A street scene with a chippy and a pub, and also the infamous Spitfire! (The spitfire is off show at the moment as it is being fully restored, however there is a sculpture in its place).
The museum also houses one half of the Staffordshire hoard.

Upstairs is the art gallery and pottery....lots of pottery!! There is also an area which houses temporary displays (for an extra fee).

The museum also has a nice cafe and gift shop.

Visited recently with my Grandchildren and its exactly the same as when i used to take my children. Have visited Gladstone and Middleport which are brilliant but i feel that the Potteries museum really lets Stoke down.
The cafe is fab though, very cheap and good service.

Thanks for leaving a comment and I'm sorry you did not enjoy your visit as much as you could have. As a free to enter museum and in the current financial climate large scale refurbishment is difficult. However we are currently at the planning stage for major works which will see the Spitfire housed in a new high-tech gallery extended out from the current building. This will also give us a new look café. I hope you can make a return visit when the works are complete.
