It is a lovely hotel with a lovely walkway to the beach. At first I was given a ground floor unit however I booked a seaview unit. We had to wait for almost an hour before getting our new room. However it was worth the wait we had a lovely view from bedroom and lounge area.
However it was disappointing the lifts never worked and we always had to use the stairs.
The staff is very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed our 4 night stay.
The breakfast and restaurant was very nice.

Our unit was large, light and immaculate. The kitchen fully met our needs. The view from the patio was amazing. The buffet breakfast did not disappoint either. All in all a really pleasant stay and can wholeheartedly recommend.

Myself and 3 friends stayed over in Dolphin Beach Hotel last night. The hotel is obviously well established - i thought that the facilities were extremely clean, well equipped and there were no skimping with the comfort of beds and linen. It was a very pleasant stay. And the 11:00 check out is unusual but such great news as you now have an extra hour to enjoy the spectacular view from the balcony

I won a prize of 2 nights at this hotel in a BEACH cabana. Besides for the perfect location and proximity to the beach which is fantastic (& views are amazing), the beach cabana was stuffy and humid, there is no aircon in the rooms only fans (by the time we left my hubby and son had a sinus flu). The rooms are basic, the bed is rock hard and the windows don't open so it gets very hot and uncomfortable in Summer. The carpets are dirty and frayed in certain areas. The main bedroom's duvet insert had pee and blood spots (we reported it to Reception and the cleaning lady had to wash it as there was no replacement), the fridge had one wheel missing so it lopsided every time you opened the fridge. You only get a sleeper couch and an armchair (armchair which was frayed and stained). In the kitchen there are basic cooking and crockery utensils (it was not equipped well for a self-catering unit), the counter tops had ''burnt/stained'' marks that someone tried to repair badly with some adhesive sticky stuff. The shower had old and badly repaired tiles and the bathtub itself sagged in some areas - it only had 1 shower curtain. The braai unit (cheap one) was old and crooked and the plastic chairs on the patio was cracked. The breakfast was mediocre - some food on the hot buffet table was cold, the staff hung around and didn't do much (not friendly at all), they'd take forever to clear your tables - the floors were sticky and the breakfast room itself was stuffy (windows did not open). Overall it was an unpleasant visit - the only exception is the views and proximity to the beach. It's a pity as the hotel has a lot of potential, even though we reported all these issues to the Reception (on day 1 and on check-out date) it felt like the staff didn't really care - I even asked on day 1 if all the rooms were like that and the clerk said Yes. I wonder if management even knows or cares. The hotel needs major refurbishments and upgrades as all the furniture is old and outdated. Very disappointed - will not be back. I am in the travel business and will not be recommending it to my clients.
