Stayed elsewhere, but ate here upon local recommendation every night we were in Cape Trib!
We loved the fish of the day, fish and chips and my husband is still raving about the Chicken Parmigiana! Oh, and the milkshakes. Yum!
Interesting setting with lots of animals and birds. But, the food. That's why you should go.

This is a lovely place to stop. The price compares very well in my opinion, and the place is gorgeous. Being with the animals at feeding time was a lovely experience for us all.
The chalets are basic but very comfortable and equipped with a fridge. There is a communal area for cooking camp-style meals which we did one night. It was dark whith just the light from the facility which made for a nice atmosphere. A resident bandicoot wandered over looking for scraps which was a delight for us all.
The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The kids and I slept very well, finding the bed really comfy, but unfortunately my husnband didn't as he could get on with the fluffy bed sheets. Personally I thought they were really lovely. But all in all a great stay for all of us.
The reception area is full of charm and character, and there's a lovely walk to be had around the grounds.
P.S. I cannot comment on the food as we didn't buy any, but it looked really nice!

We didn't expect the wonderful experiences this place offered with their animals, relaxed atmosphere and tidy amenities. The walking track was also a nice way to wake up and the croc feeding was a blast! All inclusive ! Well worth staying here and driving an extra 15-20mins to cape trib than staying at the desolate campground there that was twice as expensive with virtually nothing to offer. Great food by the way, eggs benny yummy, chicken curry great!

The property has a very "rustic" appearance which adds to the charm, we stayed one night in a motel unit which was spacious and clean but no TV reception or mobile phone reception. The staff were friendly and the walking paths through the forest were good.
The motel also has a collection of wildlife that you can visit at no charge.
The meal we had at the cafe was excellent

Room Tip: Rooms are all similar, but stay for the crocodile feeding in the morning.

We spent one night at Lync Haven and were very impressed with the surroundings. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the cafe area was very pleasant. We stayed in one of the motel units which were clean, spacious and comfortable. The only criticism I have is that there needs to be some basic cutlery and plates to use if making your own breakfast. The tour around the property with one of the owners was a real highlight especially learning about individual species. A shame the croc didn't come out but I don't blame it-it was obviously warmer in that water than out. Even saw a cassawary! A good idea to take your own evening entertainment as the cafe closes at 7.30. Lovely place to stay.

Lync haven was great - we went there 3 times in 4 evenings spent at Daintree even though we were staying a few miles away. As a family with kids interested in wildlife, it was awesome. They have on display snakes, baby crocodiles, parrots, lizards (all in cages) and we were even visited by a friendly bandicoot one evening! The staff were very kind to kids, pointing out some of the animals that were hiding. The staff were very friendly, we had extremely nice food, great service, all at a very reasonable price. The highlight, though, for us was the outdoor movie screening on the Tuesday night, which our waitress invited us to watch even though we weren't staying there. We kept on going back - great place. Highly recommended.

Lynchaven was lovely. The situation is gorgeous - set amongst rainforest with birds and wildlife.
It was very quiet, basic but comfortable, inexpensive, and was a great introduction to the Rainforest and its creatures. We travelled with friends from Germany and we were all delighted with the place and the location. We saw two Cassowaries on our morning rainforest walk!
The staff were wonderful. I felt welcomed from Lynchaven's first email response. Restaurant / bar staff and the cleaner could not have been more helpful.
We stayed in one of the Motel Units. The Unit was large and airy, with a good bed and decent linen. The living area had oldish furniture - and a droopy sofa! There was a toaster and kettle but no plates or cutlery. Luckily we had our own plates and cutlery so we could eat at the outside table for breakfast.
We ate at the restaurant for lunch and dinner each day. Good range and quality of meals. Good coffee. Good prices.
The camp ground and laundry were a short walk away.
We look forward to returning one day.

Room Tip: Take your own plates/ cutlery/ mugs and some basic food so that you can have toast or tea/coffee out...
