This place is just beautiful. The view from our room was simply stunning. The facilities, the food, the pool, the location, the forest ...all was perfect.
It was also rather quiet so often we felt like we have the whole place to ourselves.
Great stay, recommend to anyone who is looking for quiet and peace while surrounded by the breathtaking nature.

Room tip: Views, food, pool, facilities, staff: all above are spectacular

We stayed here for two nights on our way to Barcelona. The hotel is a beautifully renovated farmhouse in the volcanic preserve. The room we stayed in was nicely updated with modern amenities. They even gave us a better room - with a terrace - than what we had originally booked. The grounds are great really nice and there are hiking trails within a short walking distance of the hotel itself - we hiked for about six miles on one day. We were there too early in the season to use the pool, but that area was nice as well. Breakfast was included and was delicious - lots of local meats and cheese with bread, croissants, jam, and fruit. There was a hot option as well, but we ended up declining as there was plenty of food without it. We also ended up eating dinner in the restaurant both nights, as the hotel is about a 20 minute drive up a very curvy, narrow road, so leaving to go to town was a bit of a production. The food and wine there were great as well.

Overall, the place is beautiful - unbelievably quiet and peaceful with lots of hiking options and good food. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax for a few days, this is definitely it.

If you want to go to a hotel to disconnect from everything and be able to enjoy nature, this can be an excellent option.
Hotel with exquisite taste in decoration. An impressive room (we were in a suite) and with wonderful views of the mountains.
Far from everything but next to Olot, Santa Pau or La Fageda d'en Jordà
A marvel

Stayed here for a weekend in October and the first thing to notice is how isolated it is.None of this matters as the location and surroundings are beautiful . We had a suite with balcony and the standard is first class throughout.,.The restaurant serves a wide ranging menu , largely rustic and robust in character and there is a varied wine list. The hotel has its own pool but best of all access to amazing mountain and woodland walks . The proprietors and staff are friendly but unobtrusive. I would certainly visit again.

Stayed at Finca El Ventos in late-July 2017.

Bottom line: While El Ventos is hard to get to, the surroundings are absolutely beautiful, the accommodations elegant, and the service and food good. Best for a quiet retreat, especially for those that like to hike during the day.

Property: El Ventos is located at the end of a ~7km one-lane winding road. For non-European drivers, the trip is a little challenging, especially when there's oncoming cars. It also adds ~20 minutes to any trip outside of the hotel. That said, the property is a beautifully-built contemporary farmhouse nestled into the hills, with an expansive area around it, and great views across the valley.

Room: We stayed in one of the larger rooms (106, if memory serves), with a balcony on 2 sides of the room. The interior wasn't huge, but it was plenty spacious, and again, the views from the balcony were amazing.

Service: Service was reliably friendly, but for non-Spanish speakers, there was a modest language barrier. We did not rely on the staff for itinerary recommendations, but instead selected hikes/day trips for ourselves.

Food: Given the remoteness, we ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant each night. Breakfast was simple but tasty, with fresh fruit and local meats/cheeses, as well as a hot option. Dinners were generally good, with a very "country" rather than refined style. The menu was extensive enough to not get bored for 4 nights (ask about local wines!), and the servers very engaging and personable.

Room tip: Room 105 has a wrap-around balcony
