My boyfriend and I stayed at Chaudiere Lodge and it was amazing! Cottages were always kept clean and tidy. Staff was so helpful and kind. The landscape was beautiful. Food was GREAT! Such a great trip for families, couples and of course fisherman. Would 100% go back.

Chaudiere Lodge is what a vacation should be....relaxing. breath-taking scenery, gourmet dining, and exceptional customer service. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, they were helpful and very patient with us; as we had little to know experience with fishing or boating. They assisted us every step of the way; from baitng a hook to reeling in a fish, to starting a motor boat. My daughter is pleading to return and I will not disappoint her, as it is my intention to visit next summer. The French River area is beautiful and while there you must stay at Chaudiere Lodge.

Stayed three nights at Chaudiere, and had a great time. The landscape, islands and endless waterways are incredible. Cottages are clean, cozy, and well equiped. Boats are comfortable and always ready to take you where the fish are. Add to that the hospitality of owner Steve(put a guitar in his hands and ask him to sing a song) and his staff, and you are in for a relaxing vacation that you won't soon forget. It doesnt get much better then this for a cottage getaway. We will be back.

My wife and I have been going to Chaudiere for over 23 years. We were there in June and will be going back in August. The accommodations and food are excellent. The owner and his staff are wonderful people and are always willing to help and serve you. The fishing is excellent with Northern Pike, Musky, Bass, Walleye, Perch and other species. We fish for Northerns and Bass and on our June trip caught 121 fish with 104 being Pike. We also caught 2 Musky's with one being a trophy over 50". We release all of our fish to be caught again. I can highly reccomend Chaudiere for fishing or just relaxing. I am always available to talk with anyone if they would like more information from a guests point of view. I can be contacted in Eastlake OH. USA @ 440-946-5071 Attached are just a few of many pictures.

We visited Chaudiere in July of 2011 and LOVED it! Immaculate cabins that were kept tidy by some great gals, they delivered us ice everyday at 4PM, we played poker in the lodge until the wee hours of the morning and more importantly - we ate like royalty! The food served didn't just look beautiful - it tasted great. The dock boys saw to all our boating/fishing needs and cleaned our catch. My personal favorite was the shore lunch that the kitchen prepared for us - classic. In between morning & evening fishing, the screened in porch on our cabin was perfect for napping and reading. We had a wonderful time - such good memories to have!

My wife and I had been thinking about going to Chaudiere Lodge on the French River for several summers before we booked our trip. WHAT HAD WE BEEN WAITING FOR? It was amazing! We went with the 7 day all inclusive package and we feel like it was a bargain at $1000 per person. It included the cottage with house keeping, the boat, and all meals. You can also exchange into the lodge if you use RCI.

Chaudiere’s owner Steve hires college students on summer break as staff. They were just great, always polite and professional. When we arrived at the Dokis Marina around 5:00 pm the marina staff made a quick call to the Chaudiere Lodge. It wasn’t long before Chaudiere dock hands Danny and Josh picked us up by boat. It was a short boat ride to the lodge. As soon as we got to the dock, one of the guys moved our bags to our cottage while the other gave us a quick tour of the dock area and boats. We even made it to the 6:00 pm dinner.

One of the highlights of our stay was on the first day when we paid extra for a local fishing guide to show us the area and techniques to catch Walleye. The guide, Billie, was excellent and the shore lunch was delicious!

Our daily routine went like this. Have a great hot breakfast and then take the boat out fishing. Have an amazing lunch including dessert and then take the boat back out fishing. Have a spectacular three or four course dinner and then take the boat back out fishing. On most days we were on the go from 7:00 am to 9:30 at night. We caught Walleye, Pike and Largemouth Bass. Of course you could relax the whole time if that’s what you want to do. The scenery was spectacular, especially the sunsets over the water and trees.

The driving instructions “From Buffalo” on the website are incomplete. Initially follow the directions from Buffalo. When you get to Barrie you need to follow the directions from Barrie to Dokis Marina listed under “From Detroit”. We used our GPS to take us to the Dokis Reserve Road and it worked perfectly.

If you LOVE to fish in remote locations and have first class full service, the Chaudiere Lodge is the place for you.

My husband and I spent a week at Chaudiere Lodge. The beauty of this place has no comparison. The cabins are in great shape, spotless. The girls clean the cabins everyday and replenish supplies as they run out. The fishing was not as good as we expected but we still had a fabulous time. The all-inclusive food package was worth it. The fact that we did not have to worry about cooking at all during our stay was very relaxing. The quality of the food was incredible, delicious 3 course meals at lunch and dinner plus a delicious buffet at breakfast. The service was outstanding. The staff and owner made us feel truly at home.
