This is a beautiful hotel for getting away from everything. Limited electricity in the rooms, heat by wood stove and no wifi or tv. Nice comfortable beds with thick comforters. You're up in the mountains so even in the summer it can be chilly.
I want to point out that the drive from Punakha to Gangtey (valley of Phobjikha) is about 4 hours through windy mountain roads in the summer. While the drive is pretty, I felt like it was too much time in a car to go to Gangtey. Worse was the drive out the next day all the way to Paro. When you are spending $250 a day person, you don't want to waste it sitting in a car. If I could do the trip again I would cut going to Gangtey and see more nature things between Punakha to Paro and around Paro.More
