“Memories are unmatched”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

The beauty of Kasol, complimented by The Himalayan Village is unmatched. From the ambience, to the hospitality, the courtesy, the ever ready warmth of the team makes your stay unforgettable. No hotel or resort come even close to this one in kasol, Kullu or Manali.
They never say no for any unsual request you may have. Enough to make you want to go there year after year.

Room Tip: Please take the Chamba..but most breathtaking would be the machaan.

I and my wife spent one month in this beautiful place in september-october of 2012. We wished to live more but winter comes nearer. The first I want to note is the incredible soulfulness of Aman Sood and his crew. They give all their thoughts and forces in order to make your stay in hotel more comfortable and interesting. The staff of The Himalayan Village not only carry out their service duties with excellence but they make weekly musician and dance performance for their guests. It was very fascinating.
I am sure that it is the best place in Parvati Valley for those people who want to discover the amazing nature of this part of India and combine it with comfortable living in cottages.
The restaurant of the hotel is the best in Kasol without compare. Many people come here by car from other places. The dishes is good both for indian and european tastes. The choices of dishes is very impressing besides breakfast. You may buy very quality honey from Parvati Valley there also.
I and my wife want to wish success and prosperity for Aman Sood, his family and all crew of this shangri-la in Himalayas .

Based on various reviews we finalized to go for 3N4D MAP package at Himalayan Village, Kasol. Experience is mixed bag. Lets start with the good things.

Pros:

1. Excellent location of the resort, perfect for honeymoon couple

2. Very good maintenance of the overall property

3. Superior machan, where we stayed is very well placed within the resort. View from the balcony is serene.

4. Fully wooden room so less cold from outside

5. All employees are very well behaved and always ready to help.

6. Wi-fi, electric blanket found to be in working condition

7. Quality of food is very good.

Cons:

At times I regret to opt for package and these are the reasons:

1. Floor condition of superior machan is quite average. Full with scratches. Time to change the flooring.

2. The rates are too high if the product is considered. I consider this property as quite posh and elegent in terms of tariff.

3. In a posh room every day we got a fruit busket with 2 bananas and 2 oranges of average quality!!!

4. Food options were very less.

5. One night we were asked to order our dinner from menu, as they were unable to find the package menu. Once after placing the order we came to know that the price for dinner for 2 persons is limited only upto Rs.1000!!! In this time is it ever possible to have a complete dinner for 2 adults within Rs.1000, and that too from a posh and elegent place? We had to pay the extra amount. This also explained why the food options so limited.

6. On the day of leaving we requested to pack our breakfast. On the way we found the quantity is only half of what we ordered!!!

At the end of this stay I feel it is wise to go for only rooms for this property and not to opt for any packages.

Room Tip: Go for machans but not for elderly people.

Thank you sir for your reviews and your feed back. I personally could not see you as i was hospitalized during the time of your stay. Thank you sir for liking the property , the location , the cleanliness , the staff behavior and the food quality.
I have gone through the issues of your concerns and now ours as well.
First of all i would like to clarify that as per our records and the booking detail of your travel agent you were booked for simple MAP plan and not on 3 night 4 days honeymoon package . Kindly check with the travel agent.
The issue of food credit of Rs 1000 given to you when the guest orders from the menu is what we actually charge for dinner for a couple in our packages . This is the food component charged and we pass the same as food credits.
For the breakfast you got packed on the day of your leaving. I did check up with the staff. They said you ordered for tea to be had at the resort and asked them to pack 2 paranthas with butter and they did pack that. I apologize if you had asked for something more and they didn't understand. Please accept my apologies.
For the scratches which have appeared on the wooden floors. It does happen if the guests who stay pull the heavy wooden furniture around in the cottage as per their convenience . We do get the floors scrubbed and re polished every 6 months and for that we have scrubbing machines with our housekeeping. Please accept my apologies on this account too.
We do have a lots of variety in our menu from Indian , Mughlai , Chinese , Continental , Traditional Himachali cuisines.
I look forward to your next visit and would surely make amends for the issues you had this time. We learn from our mistakes and thank you once again.

The place is located on the way before Manikaraan ( 10 kms before Manikaran) and 20 kms from kullu. The cottages are neat and clean and the hospitality needs special mention. The cottages are located on the banks of parvati river surrounded by the dense deodhar forest and you can see the snow capped peaks from your windows. I would rate the place excellent for any nature lover to relax and spend quality time with the loved ones

our friends group with family had been to Himalayan Village, Kasol in June 2012. We had decided the resort only on basis of reviews on travel sites, but were not disappointed as it turned out to be a holiday of our life. Excellent location on the bank of a river and amidst lush green majestic mountains surrounding the resort you couldnt ask for a more serene environment to refresh yourselves on a holiday. The cottages are beautiful with clean toilets and comfortable beds, service is prompt and very warm, delicious food with plenty of variety. Mr. Aman along with his staff cannot be forgotten. The untiring efforts and total dedication they put behind each guest is not seen in the best of hotels around the world. They make us feel family and time zooms by so fast bringing our wonderful stay there to the sad day of leaving them. Will definitely be there again.

Room Tip: all cottages are beautiful.
