We stayed at La Paz in April this year, as the first stop on a 3 month trip around Europe. The site was very quiet at this time, so I imagine quite different from the busy season. The site was big, with good facilities with lots of hot water. The shop wasn't open when we stayed. The bar and restaurant were open which provided a good spot to sit, have a drink and snack and use the wifi (with amazing views). We had fantastic views but were nice and sheltered too. The pitch we had was grass, which I prefer, and was a decent size. We parked the car down the hill from our pitch, which I do prefer as you feel you have more space, but it just means a little more effort on pitching and packing away! The town of Llanes wasn't too far to drive to, which was a good spot to stock up.

Location, location, location. This campsite is all about the fantastic and dramatic terraced cliff top situation above a beautiful beach, with many (not all) of the pitches having views of coast and/or mountains. Beach is clean with fine sand, rockpools and is great for surfing but was quite crowded in August and can get small at high tide.
Sanitary blocks are clean, modern and plentiful with free hot showers and the shop has everything you could need.
There is a small field area where the kids met up in the evening.
This campsite has been here for many years and I feel they are a little complacent in terms of the facilities they offer and so there are a few negatives: The pitches are very small if you have a family sized tent you may not have much space to sit outside as well. You have to park your car separately - possibly at the bottom of the hill so you need to be fit. The resaurant has beautiful views, but it is tired looking, the quality of the food is not good and more expensive than other local restaurants. They spoke English in the office and they were quite efficient but there could have been more information generally about things to do do in the area. We also experienced some noise from the busy road that runs nearby, and from the construction of the new Cantabrian Highway (I love waking to the sound of pile boring at 8am in the morning!). The road noise may not be an issue on all pitches. Camping here was also expensive for the facilities on offer.
