“Fantastic”
Reviewed June 22, 2010

Have just spent this weekend in this hotel with my partner and can honestly say it was the best short break we have ever had! The hotel is very well signposted from the main road and as soon as we saw the room we had been allocated, we immediately booked another night at the hotel! The view from Room 27 is spectacular and looks out onto the 18th green of the superb golf course attached to the hotel and across the beautiful surrounding Fife countryside. The staff at the hotel from the receptionist through to the golf starter could not have been more professional, courteous and helpful throughout our stay.
The meals served by the hotel were excellent and were inexpensive and plentiful! There is a superb driving range also within the hotel grounds which we both took advantage of during our stay and the golf course is a credit to the greenkeeper and his staff with well cut greens, well raked bunkers and overall it is a challenging course to even the low handicappers (of which I am not one!) The signature holes have to be the Par 4 9th and the shorter Par 4 10th, both of which are surrounded by water on both sides as you approach them.
The rooms in the hotel are spacious, light and airy and well stocked with the sort of refinements expected in a 5* equivalent establishment. We will certainly be staying here again in the not too distant future. We would both like to say a big thank you to every member of staff at the hotel for making our stay there memorable.
As a final comment, this hotel is under reasonably new ownership and the new owners have spent money on all areas of the hotel to improve its reputation and facilities. Anyone who sees any negative comments that are more than 6 months old should read this review and accept that the 'old regime' that used to run this hotel poorly, is no more. Try it out and I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

Just returned from a special offer weekend at Drumoig. The hotel has benefitted from refurbishment with everything spic and span. The rooms are comfortable, spotless and have everything you need. Each staff member was polite and cheerful.
The food was fine - although main meals lacked vegetables.
And the golf course is a real test with some of the best greens seen this year.
A most enjoyable weekend and great value.

Just returned from 5 nights at the hotel, with 11 golfing friends. Ideal location for St Andrews courses as well as Carnoustie, Elie, Lundin Links, Leven, Crail and Kingsbarns (what a delight, probably better than Pebble Beach) Ate 2 nights in the hotel....food , wine and service very good. Taxis can be arranged by the hotel for evening trips to St Andrews' restaurants...can recommend Dolls House, but not its two sister restaurants. Hotel under new ownership and Lyn and her team are working hard to re-establish it as a venue for golfers..hotel has it's own course which is very challenging and has practice facilities for those who have had a 'bad day at the office'. Good hearty breakfast to set you up for the day.

MH organiser of the trip.

I visited Drumoig today for a round of golf wih friends. It was my first visit since just after the course opened. At that time the course was obviously new and needed to mature. Over the years it has certainly improved. It is a challenging but not too difficult course with a variety of features and was in very good condition. The hotel, where we enjoyed hospitality, was bright and welcoming with a good selection of meals and snacks. I was most impressed with Drumoig and can recommend it for a round of golf or a visit to the hotel for a meal or snack. I'll definitely be back.
