This is a very pleasant hotel in quiet and peaceful rural surroundings, yet within 15 minutes of the much more built-up St Andrews. We are not golfers, and just wanted a quiet place to use a a base for visiting St Andrews University. We stayed for a week.

Our room was clean and very spacious, staff are also owners (ie. not a chain) and very pleasant, and the food was exceptional - much better than you'd expect in a rural golf hotel. We ended up dining in more often than not, as their restaurant is the equal of anything you might find offsite. Co-located with the restaurant is a very nice bar and lounge where you can get a drink and relax in comfort.

Golfers are sometimes noisy and numerous in the bar and restaurant, but there was always room and it was never a problem. No sound spillage problems at all in our bedroom.

If you are coming for dinner, be sure to tell them, as they don't keep reliable hours with the chef and may otherwise send them home if it's a quiet night. That said, even with the chef gone they can still supply an excellent - if more basic - hot meal.

This place was much better than we expected, and we'll be staying there regularly on our visits to St Andrews.

Stayed again in early June. The room was clean and suited our needs. On this occasion we used the restaurant for our evening meal and found the food to be very good (£18 for three courses).
Breakfast was excellent and cooked to order. The staff were friendly and professional. Overall the hotel is excellent value for money and an excellent base for visiting St Andrews and the surrounding area.

Although not golfing, stayed for one night and enjoyed stay, great breakfast and very welcomming staff, ideal as a base for exploring or for one night, as a golfer course did look in superb condition and might look to go back to try out one of their golf packages.

Just back from an excellent stay at the Drumoig Golf Hotel. We were a group of golfers and found everything about the hotel and course catered perfectly for our needs. The rooms were freshly decorated, clean and spacious. The food was very good as was the well earned beers in the bar that has stunning views of the course. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The golf course had some stunning holes although some were under re-construction it didn't takle too much away from the round. For a very affordable golf trip with St Andrews nearby this hotel ticks all the boxes. We'll be back.
