Owner description: We offer state-of-the-art flying fox ziplines and an eco-immersive forest walk for nature lovers of all ages. With a complimentary pick up from the island's ferry terminal at Matiatia Wharf, or from Oneroa Village bus stop if you're already on the island, you'll enjoy a "mini-tour" of the island en route to our site on Trig Hill. Upon arrival and welcome at our visitor centre, you will be checked-in, geared up, and readied for one of Auckland's most eco-friendly activities! Three 200m dual flying fox ziplines will fly you smoothly side-by-side with a partner, friend or relative down into a stunning tract of original and regenerating native 'bush' (forest). It's a scenic interpretive walk back to base, where you'll learn about local flora and fauna and the conservation of our spectacular natural environment. With a choice of drop-off locations afterwards, we'll make sure you have plenty of things to do on the island!

My wife and I came to Waiheke Island as a celebration of our wedding anniversary, and one of the things we found to do was the Ecozip.

We came here by our own car as we wanted to drive around the island, and didn't have much trouble finding the location of the Ecozip location at all. Upon arrival, the views of the harbour and into the sea from the top is absolutely breathtaking!

Once you get in you sign a waiver, and get weighed in. There are lockers available free of charge, so you don't need to worry about lugging around much with you.

After that is done, you get geared up in the harness and follow the instructions of the guides. Lucky for us we had 2 really awesome guides, Morgan and Paul whom were really entertaining, sincere and showed us a really good time.

You'll get to zip down 3 different lines and it's so much fun!! Each zip line has it's own unique view and speed to go along with it, so you'll always have something different each time. Once you are done there is a gradual walk back up to the summit through the forest and it's a pleasant experience to see the flora and fauna up close.

Tips: Bring your camera with you, make sure to have a strap around your neck otherwise it could fall off and you can say good bye to it.

Thanks again Morgan and Paul, you guys were really awesome and I hope we can come back again!

Thank you to Jeremy, Sarah & Janine for making our last minute decision to head to Waiheke for Waitangi Day so worthwhile ! The pick up from Onetangi was much appreciated as was the friendly & polished service of the whole team. From start to finish we felt in safe hands & were able to enjoy the zip-lining over beautiful bush & take in those amazing views. The bush walk back to base was also the perfect end to a great adventure. Would highly recommend !

Finally there an excellent adventure activity worth visiting Waiheke Island for my partner and I. We were picked up right outside ferry terminal saving us time, provided with an interesting complimentary commentary about Waiheke from very knowledgable driver.

Before putting on our harnesses we were given an extremely thorough safety briefing, our tour guides stayed with us the whole time for good sense of security and the nature walk was very relaxing way to finish.

Our favourite part was dual zip lines, this makes it a great event for fun first date or activity for people of any age as well as cool family outing.

My husband and Dad did this today, everything from the beginning to the very end was well organized and smooth running. The staff are brilliant (especially Morgan what a star!) The zip wire was great with 3 levels and those not partaking can stand and watch from the top and take photos. There are picnic benches and drink machines at the top and the lay out is lovely. There is then a nature walk back up to the top which zig zags so most can do it. With the amazingly well informed staff telling you about the flora and fauna. I am going to do it next time we are here, it looks great for all ages. Fantastic.

The setup at Ecozip is pretty slick with good views, picnicing area, with friendly and competent instruction on both the ziplining and nature walk aspects. There appears to have been a lot of thought in the layout of the zip lines (allowing those more nervous about heights to conquer their fears on a smaller slower zip first) and on the aesthetics of the zip lines, which don't appear to blot the landscape.

The most exciting bit is when you come (seemingly) careering into the stopping platform, with some techy magnetics trickery slowing you down at a comfortable stopping speed. All clever stuff this. Well done Ecozip!
