This place is perfect when going to the Pulpit rock and when you are having a car. We were with a group of friend and did not had a car. The owners helped with everything and were so incredible warm and helpfull! I can assure you that you'll have a nice stay! The cabins are cosy and perfect for trips when visiting the Pulpit rock.

Wathne Holiday Centre is about a 15-minutes drive away from Tau. The camping site is located in a beautiful area between mountains and close to a big river with the possibility to go swimming/kayaking. It provides a BBQ site and comparable facilities for general use. The cabins are perfectly equipped, besides the bedrooms you have a huge living room with sofas and the kitchen provides all the utensils to prepare a delicious meal :-) It was very clean and value for money is excellent. The owners are incredibily nice and always try to help you, giving you hints which places to visit or how to get there. We were very, very satisfied with our stay and can plainly recommend it!

After a long day hiking up to the Preikestolen, we found this accomodation to be very nice and welcoming. The owners gave a lot of information about the area. They were really helpful when we had a couple of questions about the site. It has all the amenities you need, including free coffee in the reception building, wifi, and well maintained bathroom facilities.
When I realized I had lost a few utensils, the owners we're extremely helpful in locating the items, and mailing them home. Highly recommended

We stopped there during our trip in Norway. It was a great place, over a lake and nearby the Preikestolen, what made it our "base" for 2 nights.
Great and very nice owners who realy care about this place and make it feel like home. There is no problem with them if you need any help or just need to print anything.
Lovely and clean cabins with everything you need and so much more for a reasonable price.
A lot of fun for children ( we came from PL, two cars, 3 children) - there is a nice playground for kids at all age and trampoline.

We have spent a realy good time there. Definitely will stay there for longer next time. :)

In Norway, the best value for money accommodation especially for a family is either the camper wagons or the "Hytte" or hut.
I travelled with some friends in a car and drove around Norway. We called this place the day before to book a hut and one was confirmed right away. No deposit needed. Just a name and what time you arrive. We took the feery from Stavanger to Tau. We realised we were running very late and would arrive only after 12midnight. So when I called the owner, she said she'll wait up or if she's asleep, she'll leave the keys under the door of hut number X. We can then check in the morning after when we have our breakfast.
That was exactly what happened.

We got a nice 2 room hut with a kitchen/pantry, a nice hot shower bathroom and a nice living room. The hut was clean and had a TV and was furnished well. We parked the car right outside the hut.
There were two double bunk beds and two single beds. So that fitted 6 persons. It costed about NOK500. That was a good deal for the 5 of us.
The beauty of this place was fully revealed the next morning when we were woken up by birds singing. There is a porch in front of the kitchen which overlook the big green field. And when we got out of our hut, we were greeted with a lake and the scenery of the fjords (see photo).
So we cooked breakfast, ate at the porch and went for a swim.
I saw other huts were occupied (some had a hammock). The huts were far apart enough so we also had privacy.
We went to check-in at the main hut and the owners were an old norwegian couple who were laid back. They didn't ask for any ID. There were no forms to fill. They even offered us coffee and chatted with us. We had some great tips on how to go to Preacher's Rock, which was 10 minutes drive away.
This will be a place I will definitely go back to for a week or so in the summer.
