“A memorable evening had by all...... Simply excellent”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

We reserved a table at the dark horse for a few close friends as an introduction to this fantastic venue. What ensued was a fantastic evening full of good food, reasonably priced wines and much merriment. What started out as a quite evening with friends ended in full on dancing to some excellent (if dated) music which made us all realise our age!
Justin and his staff could not do enough, and I am sure the party would still be raging now had we not called time. We will return....

“What a shame!”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

We had organised an event for the end of September, paid a £250 deposit back in May and went to make contact at the beginning of September ...no reponse .....on the telephone or to emails leaving us very concerned and a little frustrated!?! Eventually Justin did contact us at the eleventh hour to let us know that they had been closed down and needed to make some changes to extraction fans but they had planned a cold buffet. In the mean time we had made alternative plans and due to a lack of communciation are left feeling let down. Now we are just left out of pocket - Justin promised us a formal written apology and a cheque - neither have turned up yet!

“Divine food, beautiful location, attentive service. Blown away!”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

My husband and I visited for our wedding anniversary following recommendations from friends and from trip advisor. We were not disappointed.
The location is stunning, the decor is quirky, the proprietor was welcoming and extremely attentive. Service was prompt, the food is locally sourced, seasonal and DIVINE!
Will most certainly return and highly recommend to others.

“Just not good enough”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

I went with a group of men 30 of us for a good meal, with fizz for a welcome drink. I cannot say without slandering how bad the experiance was! Cheap wine served from "Corona" bottles! That says it all.

“Unique dinner for four”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

Had a smashing Saturday evening dinner here with friends, not my most favourite menu but thats a personal choice, all the starters & mains & puds were cooked spot on, the service was good.

The ambience was vibrant & plenty of people in past 10.00 PM we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, please give it a go if you are inclined.

A bit off the beaten track but dont let that put you off, use the sat nav & postcode its easy then, plenty of parking on site.
