“What a Gem!”

This was our second stay, the first being cut short. What can you say about Hirondelles, absolutely perfect, better than ever.

“The perfect place to stay for relaxation and exploration of an interesting area of France”
Reviewed June 17, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

As others have stated before, this gite matches the photographs and the description. The views across the countryside are stunning and the gite is immaculate. The building is old but has been beautifully restored and much thought has been put into presentation and equipping the rooms with all one could need. The open plan living area is spacious and the balcony is large. The two bedrooms are well equipped with cosy towels and lovely bedding. The swimming pool is quite large and very clean. One end is deep enough to dive into and the other end is shallow for beginners. The area around it is a pleasant space with loungers and parasols. Some swimming aids and bats and balls are provided.
However, the most important part of this establishment is the people. Sara and Roger were excellent hosts. Helpful, friendly, nothing was too much trouble. They made our holiday perfect.
We visited many interesting places. Carcassonne is a lovely day trip with a good audio guided tour of the castle. Cordes sur Ciel, Najac, towns and villages around the Aveyron and Tarn rivers and the Millau Viaduct are well worth a visit. Albi has a remarkable cathedral and the Toulouse Lautrec Museum. Also we discovered a delightful restaurant there, L'esprit du Moulin, very reasonably priced and lovely food.
Thank you Roger and Sara.

“Perfect for relaxing by the pool and as a central location for touring the Tarn region”

Location was important to us; wanted to be away from main roads and busy life, and that's exactly what we got. An easy drive to a couple of villages for food (Mirandol-Bourgnounac or Monesties) or Supermarkets just a bit further.
The scenery around the gite was outstanding. Ornithologists who like Buzzards and many other birds will love it here.
There many circular walks/mini hikes which are very well marked out. Some are only 15 mins away and the others about 30 mins, all very easy drives and easy to park.
Local markets on Sunday mornings are a must: Laguepie for small and local, or St-Antonin-Noble-Val for very large and a tourist attraction (take you own coffee and sit in the small park to eat your purchases, a great Sunday morning).

Accommodation and pool have the "new feel". Sara and Roger are the perfect hosts, welcoming, helpful and really cared that we had a good holiday.

“It felt like home from home”
Reviewed July 7, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Directly we turned into the drive, we saw the gite in front of us, immediately recognisable from the publicity photos, and the swimming pool to the left with the beautiful views beyond: we knew then we had chosen well.
The site (buildings and grounds) is immaculate. The gite, itself, with its generous patio, is well equipped. The interior is finished to the highest standard in decor, furniture and furnishings and fixtures and fittings.
Of the many picturesque villages and sites to visit in this scenic part of France, the ones that stand out for us are the bastide villages of Cordes sur Ciel, Castelnau de Montmiral, Puycelsi, Bruniquel and Penne: we started early and completed the tour in one day.
Sara and Roger were the ideal hosts: helpful, attentive (in an unobtrusive way) and friendly. Our immense thanks to them.

“Fantastic gite with great views”
Reviewed August 28, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

I have to say staying at Les Hirondelles was a pleasure. The gite itself was very clean, excellently presented, well equipped and Roger and Sara had made nice little touches that made the difference. The pool was large, clean and hot.
The location of the gite was excellent, in a nice quiet area but local villages and towns were easily accessible.
Roger and Sara were lovely welcoming hosts and we were even treated to Roger singing!
An exceptional gite for a very enjoyable relaxing holiday and definitely recommended.
