We discovered Chez Miton when we were looking for a house in the Loir Valley. We were in Chahaignes to visit a house (which we tried unsuccessfully to buy, but that's another story) and had lunch at Chez Miton. What a pleasant surprise! We were totally unprepared for the quality of the food and the the general feel of the place.
We've since found our house in a nearby village, but we keep going back to Chez Miton, bringing friends who visit us to the place for a treat. And recently the prices have become more reasonable (they were a little on the high side) so it's now an even better proposition. The food is essentially French, but with an interesting Japanese/Asian twist courtesy of the chef, who is the Japanese co-owner together with her French husband. The local wines are also well represented and there are some good examples available by the glass or carafe, which is a big bonus for those of us who struggle with an entire bottle by ourselves....
We just wish there was a restaurant of this calibre in our village!
