My partner and I were both amazed at the genuinely friendly welcome we received and the tea and Christmas cake was a great personal touch when we arrived. If you are looking for a retreat which is warm, welcoming, friendly and beats all expectation then Norton House is for you. The breakfasts are amazing and are a great way to start your day if you're exploring the surrounding areas. The accommodation has many personal touches and bursting with character. We will be returning soon!

Glad you enjoyed your stay with us, it is good to have our house full of nice people and great conversation over breakfast and especially in the winter when the outside is not always so inviting. We hope you can visit again in the spring or summer when the Wye valley is even more beautiful. Look forward to welcoming you again soon.

All the best

Although this was our first visit to Norton House we were welcomed like old friends and after a long journey greeted with a cup of tea and scrummy cakes. The standard of accomodation is very high and extremely comfortable with lots of little extra touches which made it that bit special. Although we picked a very wet weekend Bill and Jayne gave us great ideas for getting out and about and we enjoyed the experience so much we left with fixed ideas of returning again with our Border Terrier in the Summer.

Sometimes just taking a night away to yourselves can really help to give you a lift, we enjoyed your company and look forward to meeting you again, when the weather should be a bit better. All the best for a great new year and see you again soon.

Having visited this B&B before on many occasions and having always been delighted, we booked once again into Norton House. To call it a B&B is doing it a great dis-service. This oasis is a gallimaufry of warmth and cordial bonhomie to the weary traveler on a bleak winters evening. As other reviewers have so eloquently described it, the house has an aura of hospitality that is enhanced by its friendly and professional owners Bill and Jayne. Welcome, welcome it seems to say, from the moment you arrive and are greeted by hot drinks and home made cakes. The bedrooms are spotless and every possible comfort is there for you. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts who both show what teamwork is all about. Bill is a culinary whiz kid but on this visit was narrowly outshone by Jayne who produced the most 'sticky' of sticky toffee puddings. If you like breakfast and we do, the full monty, is something you will remember, locally sourced sausages and bacon set you up for the day. For those who like a lighter start I counted fourteen different types of cereal and we finished with four home made jams. This place should be a teaching school for wannabe bed and breakfast proprietors. Are we returning?, already booked in.

Room Tip: We stayed in The Bower Room.

An exceptionally beautiful listed building that is loved within an inch of it's dear life. An amazing ambience, almost like an aura fills the bedroom. Jayne and Bill are delightful, friendly and interesting hosts. The attention to detail for guests was second to none and the whole experience is one I look forward to repeating it very soon.

This has to be one of the most warmly-welcoming places I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. Attention to detail was outstanding and its proximity to desirable locations was so, so pleasing!
A mere moment from Symonds Yat...not too far from Tintern Abbey. Guests have use of a cosy, 'public' area...with comfortable chairs and a log fire! Jayne and Bill are a mind of incredibly useful information!

We stayed for two nights in the really lovely Doward Bedroom with our young puppy and had a great weekend. Jayne and Bill are such good hosts and can recommend places to visit in the local area.
Tea and Cake on arrival was lovely and the breakfasts are great. Would recommend the poached haddock with an egg on top.
The weather was very changeable but we walked for miles along the river even in the rain. Some lovely Dog friendly pubs in Symonds Yat - especially the Wye Knot Inn and the Olde Ferrie Inn. Recommend a walk to the Biblins suspension bridge and a trip across the river in one of the hand pulled ferry boats.
All in all a great weekend and we would highly recommend Norton House. We will visit again !

Room Tip: Doward Room has a very comfortable Four Poster bed.
