Even though we arrived late, we had a really warm welcome, a little tour, and a nice chat.
There were so many special touches here, like cosy living room for guests, a bowl of chocolate brownies on the table, a library of leaflets , maps and guides.
The room was authentically old, yet cosy. The window seat with scatter cushions, proper shutters on the windows, huge chunky keys for the door, a lovely big bath, the largest selection of teas, and the most comfortable bed ever.
Breakfast was superb, I never knew there were seven varieties of muesli, the full english was complemented with copious amounts of coffee and tea. Both Bill and Jayne were keen that we made the most of our weekend there and suggested walks and places to eat.
Norton house is nestled in an area that has so much going for it, and the facilities in place for everybody to access and appreciate so many outdoor activities at any level.

I can only say things in the superlative for Norten House.
- Jayne is extremely friendly and very helpful she looked after us, a group of 5 people extremely well. We all felt at home and very comfortable. Jyne keeps the bed and breakfast emacutely clean.
- Bill is most kind and helpful and helped me find places by giving me the postal code which I could then put into my satnav. I had an employee of ours with me who had never been to the seaside so Bill gave us a postal code which led us directly to the sea side. Mr. Bucher loved it.
I can not conclude without complimenting Bill on the jams he makes. Try for yourself!. The breakfast was abolutely delicious.
Thank you Jayne and Bill

We stayed at the B&B for only 3 nights and wished it could have been longer! Apart from being in an excellent location for exploring the wonderful countryside in the area, Norton House provides everything you could wish for to make your stay enjoyable - a warm welcome from Bill & Jayne, giving plenty of useful advice on where to eat and places to visit. Our room (Monmouth) was clean & comfortable and the breakfasts 1st class - loved the idea of everyone seated at the large table - so much more sociable! Certainly hope to return - big thanks to Jayne and Bill for making our stay so enjoyable.

My wife and I (plus the dog) stayed for 3 enjoyable nights. A lovely comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Jayne was very understanding about our ignorance of this beautiful area and both she and Bill made every effort to tell us where we should go to appreciate what the Wye Valley has to offer.

You can always judge a good place to stay by the quality of the breakfast, paticularly the sausages. Norton House gets 6 stars out of 6 from us! Even the dog got biscuits

Having just returned from a week staying at the Cider Loft at Norton House, we can’t recommend this place highly enough. Thanks to Bill & Jayne for their hospitality (home made bread & muffins as well as bacon, eggs & sausage for your first morning’s breakfast) and advice on the locality.
The cottage is well equipped, clean, spacious & dog friendly as well as being ideally situated for exploring the beautiful countryside.
Symonds Yat & Yat Rock are within walking distance and worth the walk with a stop for lunch at The Saracens Head (recommend). Other recommendations:
