Although we're local,we hadn't visited the Moody Cow since the new owners (Chris and Dawn) took over two and a half years ago. So to 'celebrate' a change of role, my parents and I decided to treat ourselves to a mid week meal out. After hearing good reports about the food here on the grapevine, we thought we'd give it a go. We were not disappointed. From first arriving on a cold and drizzly night to a lovely cosy pub, and snuggling up on the sofas in front of the wood burning stove, to the final mouthful of pudding - everything was fab! We shared a delicious and clever scallop starter, then had great seasonal main courses of venison, duck and sea bass, then finished everything off with a shared cheese board and a scrumptious pudding. Chris and Dawn are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble, and they're always checking that their guests are okay. I loved it so much here I'm going back for lunch on Tuesday! Only gripe is I wished we'd discovered how good the Moody Cow is sooner! Keep up the good work, it's great to have a place of this quality 5 minutes from Ross.
