Just stayed in the Hostelrie, it was a fishing trip on the river Wye AT GOODRICH, We found the place clean and tidy, very friendly welcome , the food is excellent and I challenge you try and eat the local Hereford beef pie with local beer, local flat cider on draught, although not cheap the prices reflect that they use local farmers etc for the best cooking..worth it.
One word of caution, I slept in a twin room (4) with my pal and after breakfast (10/10) I saw the ghost of lady behind me..my mates took it as a joke until Alun (chef) told us of the many ghosts of the Hostelrie and the fact the local paranormal group go there on a regular basis, the place is full of History, loved every minute of it. Sheer class and splendour its not but clean and tidy, great food and with all the local History...its a must!!! oh and we pulled out 16 Barbel and 7 Chub!!

Room Tip: ask for room 4

We chose this hotel as we were visiting Goodrich tracing our family tree. It was in a good location for what we wanted although when we arrived I was rather put off at the tatty appearance in the reception area. We were shown to our room which was number 1 and if it hadn't been that we had been driving for 8 hrs we would not have stayed. It was tired and shabby with an array of mismatched furniture. The bathroom was an old 70s Avocado suite with damp patches on the walls. The bed was rock hard so much so that I thought I had sat on my phone but it was a lump in the mattress. Evening meal was ok but overpriced and original menu choice was no longer available. Breakfast would have been ok had there not been a dog hair in the butter pot. Staff were ok , friendly but very nonchalant - it was very much a case of take it or leave it. Room was overpriced at 78 pounds. Would not return.

Spent the weekend of the Queens Jubilee, and met as we booked in by Alun, then soon after met Lisa. Perfect hosts, and very welcoming. Had a meal on Saturday night, which we could not fault. and a well stocked bar with everything one could wish for, including many local ciders.
We were fortunate to be allocated a four poster room, with an outlook over Coppetts Hill. We only had to ask for a hairdryer which was sent to our room within a few minutes.
Full english breakfast every morning set us up for the day.
The Inn is situated in the countryside, surrounded by farmland, where the farmers had obviously been muck spreading. This resulted in a few flies in the bar/restaurant area which was not a problem for us as Lisa was well stocked with fly spray. Unfortunately 1 or 2 of the guests did nothing but complain about this.(What do they expect), but it did not put us off, and we eagerly await our next visit to this part of the Country, and would not hesitate to use The Hostelerie again.

Booked in to go to a wedding but never made it! Met by Alun and shown to a fantastic room with everything you could need. Alun and Lisa introduced us to some local ciders and that was the start of a great stay! After sampling several local tipples we decided to stay put and sample the local cuisine and how fabulous that was! Alun is passionate about everything and the food was to die for, highly recommended! The drinking continued in the bar where the locals couldnt have been more friendly. All in all we loved this place and are looking to buy a house close by! See you again very soon guys!

A fantastic hotel situated in a beautiful location.
We arrived to a very warm welcome of Alun and Lisa (owners). We were going to a friends wedding and Alun kindly asked if we would like him to book us a taxi. As I'd left it till the last minute , we couldn't get one, Alun then offered to take us and pick us up! Wot service !!
Our room was clean and spacious with a tv , tea making facilities, double shower and a 4 poster bed.
The staff were very polite, the food fantastic.
It was a pleasure to stay here and I will definitely return.
Great location, great hosts, great food . Would highly recomend.

Upon walking in we were told we were not booked in for that evening.. no rooms were allocated, and yet our evening dinner booking was valid ? .... they found us rooms without a problem. We had to ask for the room to be cleaned as it was dirty and rennovation work was ongoing (we were warned about the work).

The towel rail in the other room fell off as soon as it was used.

Dinner was served but no cutlery.. I went to ask but was told "let me just serve this couple at the bar" which is an appauling answer when food is waiting.. as a result it was beginning to cool.

The owner was a nice pleasant chap but to be honest was doing work himself and smelt like it so I didnt appreciate him constantly hanging around our table chatting. Superb host mind but just needed to change and shower really.

Breakfast was nice but again we were sat with breakfast served but no cups/glasses or anything like that which is not what I expect when paying.
