We have eaten at the Red Lion a few times recently. The service is always excellent with very friendly staff. The food has always been First Class. My favourites have been the whole Sea Bass & the home made pies. The game pie ( venison, duck & rabbit ) was superb, served with veg & a choice of potatoes for under £10.

If you are in the Ross area, give this Pub a try, you will not be disappointed.

Also the local beer is excellent, again at only £3 per pint

We visited the Red Lion as a birthday treat for my Mum and had a lovely experience. A really warm welcome in this cosy, traditional style pub (complete with open fire!) followed by enormous portions of tasty, feel good food. We'd thoroughly recommend this pub to anyone looking for value for money, friendly service and yummy food that the big chain pubs don't offer!!

I first ate here in August when we sampled the Sunday lunch. It was faultless - excellent beef with fresh vegetables, roasters and yorkshire puds, topped with delicious, tasty gravy. It was all presented nicely and was hot. My husband and I shared a chocolate cheesecake as we were too stuffed to manage one each - it was delicious.
Last week I visited again for lunch with a friend. We were greeted warmly and served quickly. We both had the chicken stuffed with leeks and blue cheese in a sauce. It was tasty and again served with fresh veg - beautiful florets of an unusual cauliflower, which looked like the turrets on St Basil's cathedral in Moscow! We were talked into a pear and chocolate creme brulee and were really glad - the toffee top was extra superb. We ate in the conservatory on a hot day and the air conditioning was put on without us asking. The service was very friendly. Thanks to Kath & Dave and your friendly staff.

Best Sunday Lunch for ages, and I know my food.
Can not fault it, best roast Potatoes yet.
Great beef and plenty of it with fresh cooked veg.
Girls very attentive, loved the pork crackling on the bar and the
good beer, but then I love Wye Valley.
Strongly recommended.
Great log fire to.

From the moment you walk in the door, you know the experience is going to be good. The crackling logs in the fireplace add to the cozy atmosphere. The food is prepared fresh and it shows, the tastes are amazing. The portions are HUGE and half sizes are available which is a good thing because you'll want to save room for the excellent homemade desserts. I highly recommend The Red Lion!
