We stopped in here based on the other reviews and yummmm! Best coffee I've had in a long time. The breakfast was excellent, the bread amazing and we bought some pastries before we hit the road. Let's just say they didn't make it far. I would definitely recommend!!!

The thick crusted traditional European dark rye bread alone would warrant a 5-star review even if the rest of the food sucked - which thankfully, it doesn't. This may sound like a bread fanatic rant, but this view is shared by others I know.

Otherwise, the bakery goods are all all excellent, and the espresso is real - a rare treat in the great American outdoors. The cooked dinner fare is excellent as well. Add in a tastefully charming cabin in the woods feel, and you are in for a real treat.

Nestled a bit up a hill from Hwy. 1 in Big Sur, this is a lovely little rustic place and a nice stop on for a meal while driving the winding, twisting and breath-taking highway. The meal was very nice, but I had to ask for a pepper shaker, then ask for a pepper shaker with pepper in it, but the service was friendly and as attentive as possible as busy as it gets. There is also a small bakery on premises (pricey!), a gift shop and an art gallery. I would definitely stop here again for a bite to eat.

Didn't actually eat here as it was later in the day and most of the bakery goods were gone.

I just wanted to mention the unusual and gorgeous garden that was right next door, as well as the Gift Shop that had some very interesting items.

We stopped here on our drive through Big Sur for coffee and pasteries. The line was long, but the scones were so worth the wait!
