“Great cozy restaurant with good fresh local food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

We had fresh baked bread from the bakery and it was gone in a day! Beware the loaves are huge so consider just a half loaf. Went back the next day for dinner and the wood fired pizza is delicious and fresh. Great wine and beer selection. Also used fresh local veggies in my veggie entree which was great! Small restaurant with a fireplace - very cozy. Will definitely go back if i visit the area again.

“Nothing better!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2013

We stopped by here on the way down the coast driving through Big Sur for a snack. Time stood still when we tasted their almond croissant! We consider ourselves a good judge as we order these wherever we go and this was hands down the best we have ever had (beat the ones in France). The rest of our order was great I'm sure but I am back at home still thinking about that croissant. It is the new gold standard we will judge all future tasting against. The garden and grounds were charming too, just what you expect from a trip through Big Sur.

“Great Big Sur Dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

Wasn't cheap but also wasn't as expensive as some of the places in Big Sur and the quality and freshness of the food made it seem totally worth it. This was our splurge dinner and don't think we could have made a better choice. Call ahead for reservations!

“Cool Building Average Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

So overpriced. I mean, really, a half sandwich for $12? Give me a break. I had an Almond Croissant and latte, my husband had an Apple Strudel. I think the total was $16. I just don't get what is so special about Big Sur, someone please help me! Ocean cliffs, beautiful, Trees nice, people, so pretentious, ugghhh, couldn't get out of there fast enough!

“A bit overpriced”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

The place was ok and welcoming but not great value for money. Ordered pizzas and they tasted good plus they had some bakery left over from the day that we could take which was great as we were leaving early in the morning and breakfast was not included in our room!
