“A view for the ages...”
Reviewed May 12, 2013 via mobile

Came for Sunday breakfast. Incredible views. Incomparable. The food is very good. Service, well, I think they make the orders one at a time, so not the quickest. But it's all about the views.

“Food Great-Service Needs Work”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

My partner and I stopped here on the recommendation of one of the local forest rangers we met. The view was stunning, even with a bit of fog obscuring some of it. The food, we both had breakfast burritos, was very good, though it was, for breakfast type food, a bit expensive. The coffee was not the best we have had in while. I think the one thing that I really did not like about this place was the extremely slow service. Considering it was not especially crowded that morning, I don't understand why it took upwards of 30 minutes to get two breakfast burritos. Equally frustrating was the fact that two guys who apparently either knew the counter help presonally, or, perhaps worked at Nepenthe upstairs, came and ordered several minutes after we had ordered and were sitting waiting for our food. They ended up getting their food in a short amount of time while we sat and waited and waited. I think the wait wouldn't have bothered me so much if these guys didn't get bumped to the front of the line service-wise. They obviously were not in any hurry because after we ate, took our time taking pictures, and, hit the bathrooms in the restaurant upstairs (Nepenthe) these two guys were still sitting there talking. Anyway, things like this contribute to a feeling that customers who are not either employees or friends of the staff don't get the same preferential treatment. If not for the extremely long wait and the lacking service, our experience here would have been really nice.

“Beautiful view...Relaxing”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

Arrived around 10:30 ..the cafe was not very busy so decided to have a coffee and a sweet and enjoy the view and the day. Very pleasant wait staff with good advice on the area. Nice selection of lunch and bakery type foods..wine. Would return here. Very nice gift shop with quality items if looking for upscale souvenirs. Did not try food other than mentioned so can't comment but felt the stop worth it. Cannot say the same for upstairs restaurant when we returned later in the day for a meal.

“Food with a view!”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

Nice restaurant. Good food in an excellent location. We had the sandwiches which were pretty well made and filling. The view was excellent. I guess you pay for both the food as well as the view since most of the menu items were over priced. Overall the view and the tasty food made up for the prices. Definitely a good stop for a quiet meal in the midst of nature.

“Breakfast with a view”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

The views are spectacular. We thought the food was good - not gourmet or special, but decent breakfast fare. Everything is outdoors, so if it is cold, you need to bundle up, but we were there on a 50ish degree day and it was pleasant in the sun. Nepenthe/Kevah is a must stop for the views alone and breakfast (or coffee) was just right for us.
