Loved the small private courtyard, perfect location along big sur. The room is rustic looking but very clean and well laid out. Heated bathroom floors were a really nice touch and the shower was fantastic! The grounds were also very well taken care of.

This place is super cute and quaint and extremely well run. We checked in a little early since were driving past on our motorcycle on our way to ride the coast for the day. Hoping to unload some luggage but weren't able to since our room was not ready. However, we were given the key since we'd be back later than the main desk is manned. We were in room 9 which is right next to the fire pit (a little disappointing if you have people out there late talking) since we could hear them from the room.

Our room was an adobe king with a fireplace. The placement of the fireplace is odd right in front of the bed (which is great) but its double-sided and you can totally see the bed from the other side of the fireplace outside. Thankfully, there are locking doors and a cute little courtyard for the room with table and chairs.

The room was spacious and well appointed. The heated bathroom floors were amazing. Only two things that were off - noisy creeky bed and creeky floors - hard to hit the bathroom in the middle of the night without waking anyone up.

Other than that, stay was great and we will be back but hopefully will be able to try a different style room.

I had seen Glen Oaks in Sunset Magazine at one point and cut it out hoping one day I would get to stay here. Well, I recently spent 2 nights at Glen Oaks and only wish I could stay longer! It is one of the top hotels I have stayed at in my years of travel. It lives up to its great reviews. Comfiest of beds, beautiful decor, warm fireplace, heated bathroom floors, divine shower. Having a refrigerator is a must for us so it was great to have that here. The location is great. While the noise from Route 1 might be more annoying during peak season (we stayed in winter), it was not distracting. We had quiet, restful slumber both nights. We ate at the Roadhouse Grill across the street for one dinner and one breakfast. I would give the restaurant only 3.5 stars. Food was good, solid fare, but we experienced some challenges with service and item availability and quality. I absolutely must come back to this property!

Room Tip: Consider an upgrade to king size. It is absolutely wonderful!

We are in the midst of spending 3 days and nights at this most tranquil, restful motel in Big Sur. The room is large, clean, comfortable ( even has heated bathroom floors) And fairly quiet although alongside Hwy 1. The front desk person gave great advice about day hikes in the area. We ate all 3 dinners at their restaurant across the hwy and we're not disappointed. We even got chocolates in or room on Valentine's Day! Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here for one night whilst driving the pacific highway. We stayed in one of the Little Sur Cabins in Redwood Grove. The cabin was brilliant; it was cosy and well equipped with a very nice bed and excellent bathroom.

In front of the cabin we had, like all the cabins, our own fire pit with logs and fire starters. It was a delight to sit outside under the shade of giant redwoods and enjoy the fire burning!

We ate in the Roadhouse which is just a short walk from Redwood grove. We really enjoyed the experience here, both the restaurant itself and the food. We thoroughly recommend both!

We stayed in a fireside queen room for 2 nights in February. Loved the room, loved the walk in shower and heated bathroom floor, loved the water filter, loved the landscaping, loved the communal fire pit. Wifi was good (we streamed a movie on netflix one rainy night). FYI, there is no TV in the room. I am sure that Big Sur is a crazy place to stay "during the season" but it was super dreamy here in the winter and we recommend for a winter getaway. Also, off season our room was under $200 per night.

This is a lovely, quiet and very well kept establishment. The staff is friendly and very attentive when needed. I had a slight maintenance problem (squeaking door hinge) that was taken care of almost immediately even thought it was a Sunday afternoon when maintenance is normally not on sight. The only thing that keeps me from five "stars" is the frustratingly slow wifi connection.

(Interesting to note that when i preview this review, my rating for the restaurant does not appear. That gives tripadvisor a poor rating.)
