This little cozy cabins, give the experience of camping, but in Luxury style. On a great location on Big Sur and with some unique surprices, like the floor on the bathrooms; the interior of cabins are unique and comfortable, they have great eye for details

This was the most luxurious place my husband and I stayed on our honeymoon (with a price ticket to match) and the cabins are absolutely stunning. We actually stayed in 2 different cabins (Big Sur Cabin and River View Cabin) because the reception desk messed up our booking. Both cabins were gorgeous with beautiful interiors and ready to light fires in the pits, but the Big Sur Cabin (which was the more expensive of the two) was lacking in basics, such as a tin opener despite having a microwave.

The downside of our stay was the customer service we received from the front desk. After messing up our initial booking we did not receive an apology and the lady that checked us in barely lifted her eyes from the computer screen for long enough to acknowledge faces. The ladies who did the housekeeping, however, were extremely friendly and helpful.

If you are looking for somewhere lovely to rest your bones in Big Sur and are prepared to put up with surly receptionists then I would recommend staying here (but perhaps go for a cabin other than the Big Sur one).

Room Tip: The Big Sur Cabin is a bit overpriced - the others are better equipped.

We stayed in the Redwood-Forest View room. The photos, as depicted on Glen Oaks Big Sur's website, reflected well the actual room and its surroundings -- you are truly nestled among the redwood trees. The kitchenette was great.

Room Tip: I highly recommend the Forest View Redwood room if you are looking for a secluded spot. It was well...

My husband and I drove down the coast for our honeymoon stopping in Big Sur as a last minute decision. On the day we would be arriving, we called Glen Oaks to see if they had any availability as their website said they had no vacancy. They had one Little Sur Cabin available. When we got there, we checked in and were told to drive down the street a small ways to get to our cabin, #8. It was directly behind a stream so we were surrounded with the sounds of nature. The cabin was nestled in the middle of a Redwood forest with a private firepit. The cabin was very small but had all the necessary amenities one would need including a mini-fridge, sink, microwave, coffee maker, fire-starting kit, smore sticks, etc. They stock each firepit with wood and have a shed of additional firewood if needed. There are no televisions in any cabin but you can get wi-fi in certain areas if you try. There are plenty of restaurants and general stores close by. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Big Sur who enjoys the outdoors yet still wants to have the luxury of sleeping in a clean, comfortable cabin. My husband and I have already started planning our next trip so we can stay longer!

Room Tip: Little Sur Cabin #8 has a great firepit that is a bit more secluded and private than some of the ot...

Enjoyed the single cabin in the woods. Despite being rather close to the road, it was quiet at night. Nice to have a kitchen with all the essentials at hand. Loved the heated floor in the bathroom. Would return again if staying in Big Sur. Close to restaurants and shops.
Deetjen's was recommended for our anniversary dinner and it was great.

Two nights mid-week were spent in Big Sur on our road trip along the coast. The front desk was friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and professional in a relaxed, California-kind of way. As others have said, the price seems high until you spend time in Big Sur and realize most everything costs more than in a larger city. Thankfully, you get a nice, cozy, clean, modern, and better-than-most eco-sensitive & friendly place to stay as a result and aren't grumbling because it is expensive *and* uncomfortable. Close to restaurants and a variety of trails. We'd go back and aim for a cabin to try something different.

Room Tip: We did not book far enough in advance to have a choice of rooms except in the motor lodge. While th...
