Glen Oaks was a good compromise between a luxury resort and camping. My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights because we love being outdoors in Big Sur, but did not want to rough it this time around. We stayed in a Little Sur Cabin and it was very cozy. Even though it was little, it provided everything we needed and much more. All of the basic essentials were provided, down to silverware and plates. The cabin was stocked with a brita water pitcher, teas, coffees, and oatmeal, even yoga mats! The best part of the cabin was the heated bathroom floor. It was so lovely to step out onto a heated floor after a hot and steamy shower. I saw plenty of wildlife right outside the front steps, even a bob cat- or something along those lines. There were chairs around the fire pit and that area was enclosed with beautiful redwoods.
Big Sur is so beautiful and is still one of my favorite places to visit. Glen Oaks lived up to my expectations and I would definitely recommend it- or at least one of the cabins.

We were very pleasantly surprised with Glen Oaks since all of us (party of seven in three rooms) were prepared to be cramped in three very small rooms. Although the rooms were small, we were very comfortable.
We were also pleasantly surprised that parking was easily available and convenient.
While planning our vacation over the Christmas holidays, all of us made several calls to Glen Oaks reception desk, and they were always very helpful and responsive.
Their professionalism, customer service is of the highest level. Manager, Jeanette, is extremely helpful and addressed any of our concerns, immediately, always available to us.
We would not hesitate to return, and recommend Glen Oaks to everyone.

We spent just one night in the Sycamore cabin at Glen Oaks. It is a remarkable spot for tuning out the buzz of the digital world and just being in the forest. When you need to check in, the wifi was solid while cell service was non-existent.

As for amenities, everything is here. A small kitchen with half size refrigerator, microwave, modern fixtures and a remote controlled fireplace. The bathroom with double sized shower features a heated floor.

Just a hundred feet away is a river with picnic tables for taking in the nature with a hot cup of coffee. Each cabin has a personal fire pit that is loaded with wood and ready to go. A starter log with grill lighter was provided at no extra cost.

At check out, the staff was more than helpful with recommendations and directions to sights and restaurants. She also sent us on our way with 2 cups of local organic coffee.

I could go on, but I will leave on this note: we will *definitely* be back, to Big Sur and Glen Oaks!

Room Tip: I would recommend the Sycamore cabin or one of the other cottages over the motor lodge if you prefer...

In big sur there is not a lot to choose from and this place is very quaint and rustic the rooms have a fireplace and private outdoor terraces. We visited in the off season and got a nice upgrade. Gas is next door. Very important if you are riding a motorcycle

My husband and I stayed at Glen Oaks in the Archies cabin over the weekend. It was so nice - great service, great location, beautifully designed room. We loved the gas stove since it got pretty chilly at night. Perfect romantic getaway!

Room Tip: The Archies cabin was great. It's a stand alone cabin, so very private. I don't even think...

We stayed here for a couple of nights this past February, and it was beautiful. Big sur itself is a beautiful place, but there's no doubt our visit was enhanced by the clean and very hip accommodations at Glen Oaks. We stayed in a room called the "Adobe Motor Lodge Fireside King." It had a gas fireplace built into one wall, which was also visible from outside, on the patio. It was great being able to enjoy the fire both from our bed and from the chairs on the patio.

We stayed here with our 8 year old daughter, and the staff had a roll away bed prepared when we arrived (we asked in advance, and there is an extra charge of about $60).

There is also a gas firepit next to an outdoor fountain in a common area with some nice wood benches. You can roast s'mores here or just hang out and watch the birds next to the fire. It's pretty relaxing. Protip: don't buy the artisanal s'mores at the office unless you're swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck. They were $15, and you can just walk next door to the general store and get regular people marshmallows and Hershey's.

The staff was very helpful in giving us ideas for hikes and places to eat. The free coffee at the office was also good.
